Warhammer: The World Stands Alone CC and background

Sound broke her restless dreams like a brick through a window and Arduayn quickly kipped up with a gasp , pushing the astropath gently aside and scanning for any hostiles "This ship is going down , we need to gather who we can and get to some escape pods." The Eldar warrior surmised "I will head towards the cabin and see if Khel still lives." Moving with the speed of the arachnid creatures that were her namesake the Eldar swiftly disappeared into the winding halls of the ship, intent on finding her captain.

Meanwhile

Lucan coughed , a spray of dark red liquid meeting the metal floor as he did so , pain met him swiftly as he struggled to stand , pushing a fallen metal beam off of his back and forcing his smoke choked eyes to open. Lungs pounding and in desperate need of air he tried his best to stumble out of the now mostly collapsed lounge , burning eyes checking desperately for any of his fellows.

"I need a moment, can you help my squad if you find them on the way?" The astropath called as she ran off, and what with the blood dripping from his eye bandages, it was clear he did. He wanted to go help, but interfacing with her mind, crushing a chaos space marine, the psychic backlash, and communicating after that... he had gone well past his limit, and was of no use right now. He would meet them at the pods, as powerful as he was he was a human psyker... one of considerable power, and will, but while it was incredible how strong he had become in such a short life time he simply had not had the time to train in the safe use of the warp like an eldar seer or warlock. He held onto the wall and staggered toward the pods tailing drops of blood behind him

Raina was already up and assisting him as he got to his feet, she was a little scratched up and bruised, but seemed in better condition than he "I thought you were made of sterner stuff boss." She tried a joked to calm him down but her voice was shaky as she called "Medic!"

"My apologies for the disappointment *kaff* I just haven't had a roof collapse on me in a bit." He replied with a smirk and a shake of his head.

"Ah shit the medic's dead." She noted looking at the corpse of person who knew how to patch the boss up, then looked toward the bridge where Khel was with curiousity on how he was

Suddenly from a nearby seemingly sealed door a crackling eldar blade burst through and quickly cut across the edges of the entrance. Then with a crash the metal came falling down and out of the smoke stepped the two eldar .

"Which way to the escape pods?" Raina asked as she helped Lucan stand, she knew there was know time to spend on formalities though she had to ask "What happened to Aldion?"

"He's probably still near the engines , I will retrieve him myself , you two follow Khel." Arduayn promptly barked and with that ran off again to find the astropath.

Raina hefted the fucked up Lucan over her shoulder, so he wouldn't need to like die trying to walk and followed khel "You guys get escape pods on these things? damn; now I'm jealous." she joked trying to stay upbeat

Aldion's condition had gone from bad to worse, and he was slumped unconscious against the wall not far from where she left him, body jolting with spasms of warp energy, his mind was straining to keep under control. Amazing how quickly he could go from seemingly unstopably, to a slumped over wreck clinging onto life with all he had in him.

"Well given our low numbers we often need such safety precautions." Khel explained , tone completely casual as he forged on , blade still drawn incase any attackers arrived.

Arduayn let out a frustrated sigh as she hefted the astropath onto her shoulder as best she could , trying to block out his psychic spasms as best she could.

"Right, well lucky you... as a person not race I mean." She clarified as they made heir way there

Well at least he was pretty light

Eventually they found themselves in the escape pod chamber , one of the two pods already gone seemingly "No matter we'll all fit in this one " he declared calmly.

The three of them do indeed all fit, however as soon ass they are in a much smaller explosion from the secondary engine rocks the ship, causing the pod to automatically launch; with Aldion and the scorpion still on board the ship.

"Shit" Raina swears as she is thrown to the floor by the sudden launch, lifting the officer made it none too easy to keep her balance, and now she realized Their astropath was still on board the ship barreling toward the planet

"They're most likely doomed " Khel observed solemnly , a deep sorrow filled look in his eyes and the ship grew further and further away in the void.

"We should have just reported to command!" Raina who had been calm and friendly til now completely lost it after strapping the officer to a seat. She had just lost most of her squad as khel had his crew so was understandably emotional causing her to lash out at the eldar

As they reached the escape pods to find one left Aldion's eyes would gradually start to open
