Warhammer: The World Stands Alone CC and background

"..Good." He replied coldly , Lucan shivering slightly at the frigid fury that shook in his every word . Wasting no more time he turned and sauntered off towards the helm of the ship "Prepare the cannons." He loudly declared and quickly the crew dispersed to their various roles throughout the silver interior of the ship.

If left alone Aldion would return to his meditation in a dark corner. He was clealy acting more reserved with all the Xenos around.

With the humans now all left to themselves , Lucan turned to look over at Raina "It is quite strange...seeing them in person."

After she was finished being chewed out by the commander and hung up she answered quietly "They don't seem as foul as I thought they would, but the way they move... they just seem, at least physically... better than us." She of course only confided this to the lieutenant as she knew him quite well, she seemed all insecure about it.

"...In a way it does seem like that...but look a little closer and you can start seeing the drawbacks , you could hear it in their captain's voice." He replied with a nod , with an intrigued expression on his face.

"I know they aren't perfect, but I feel outmatched." She admitted to the lieutenant, "Did you see the red head fight, she could kill us all without breaking a sweat; could you imagine having that kind of strength, skill, and speed?" Raina was most definitely a bit jealous

"I can , I suppose it's what the marines feel like no?" He replied with a nod , completely understanding , he'd felt rather useless throughout all of this .

"Or hell even the sisters of battle might rank up there." Raina laughed suddenly "Sometimes I wonder how we even stand a chance out there. A single chaos marine could wipe out half a platoon of us. In no small part because they get power armor, and bolters while we get tinfoil and flashlights that'll barely scratch the paint."

"It is a little unfair isn't it?" He replied with a laugh as he leaned back against the wall "It does often feel like we're the smallest guppies in a massive ocean, yet we have our job as always , and we have the emperor behind us...we just need to trust that'll be enough."

"And at least the lasers look cool" Raina joked

Soon after the ship has fired, and several marines can be seen being sucked into the vacume of space their sensors would show another much larger ship appear; it was closing fast, and already in close proximity; likely having been lying in wait for one of the moon's craters.

The ship immediately took off , floating through the light field of asteroids and hoping to use them for cover from the more powerful pursuer.

The eldar ship is of course much faster, however that didn't stop it from being hit in the side by two solid heavy objects, that pierced the hull perfectly with the giant drills on the front, and stuck in; more or less maintaining the ships' structural integrity.... these were rather clearly boarding torpedoes.

"Well shit." Lucan groaned as the two torpedos rocked the ship , slamming into the nearby mess hall. Immediately several of the eldar crew members rushed in , ghostswords and shuriken rifles drawn as they did so , Arduayn not far behind . Meanwhile Khel was simply attempting to steer the now rocking ship away as best he could through the asteroids.

The hatch of the torpedo exploded outward filling the room with with smoke after which a volley of bolter fire cut down more than half of the crew, all that could be heard after that were the sounds of revving chain swords and screaming; certainly the crew had killed a few, but none of them walked out again.

"Stay by the cockpit, make sure no one gets through, or at least slow them down til I get back" Aldion said to his fellow humans with a grin, and seizing his stave headed toward the point of the breach as if on a leisurely stroll; he did now seem afraid in the least. "You coming?" he asked the scorpion "Can't handle em all myself"

By that time she was already through the door , and the sounds of her chainsword revving alive was all the answer he needed.

At this point the traitor Astartes were spreading out into three two man kill teams to move and purge the entire ship's non combat crew; complete slaughter was their primary goal, they were achieving with great success. This time less forcefully the psyker would try to make psychic contact to coordinate with the scorpion as he followed after her.

By the time he followed here she was pulling a chainsword from the corpse of a marine {You wish to coordinate , fine , but do not get in my way}

The other marine in the team's blade slashed at her throat as she did with blinding speed, but stopped an inch away as if it had been seized by some incredible force. "I'll... try... not... to" Aldion's struggling but triumphant voice came across, as he felt the immense strain... of crumpling a chaos space marine in full power armor, into a ball of scrap metal, broken electronics, and a soupy mess that had once been one of the emperor's legionaries "So what's the plan?" The astropath asked panting. Quite frankly such a display of raw psychic might was rather frightening even, perhaps especially to an eldar.

"We keep killing them until there's none left." She hissed , any shock from the display dwarfed by some strange almost instinctual hatred in her voice.

"I can't tell if that's directed at me or them... but fair enough" Aldion agreed though
was admittedly somewhat wary of the enraged Xenos with the bloody chainsword "We'll stick together, make sure neither of us are overwhelmed"

With that she was off before he could react, trying to find more space marines to cut apart.

So began the the astropath's attempt of running to catch up with her as fast as his poor human legs could carry him, but soon he realized that was a lost cause and began to focus on using his more subtle powers to increase her skill instead; even the few mistakes that even she as a skilled eldar would be prone to completely disappeared from her attacks, and the next pair wielding chain swords and bolters fell before her like drops of rain in a hurricane. She could of course tell it was Aldion behind this, while she focused on the general combat he was able to help her predict the enemies next move or fix a slight subconscious or conscious slip up in the heat of battle; though it had the regrettable side effect of making the astropath more familiar with the Xenos' mind, he could not afford to worry about that particular Heresy just yet "There's one team closing on the engines, you need to get there now, you need to stop them." The astropath's voice urgently chimed in after she easily cut down the next astartes team

"Was planning on it." She replied , and pulled her blade from an astartes' neck and started making her way down one of the corridors that intercepted the way to the engine room , hoping to ambush her prey.

As it happens as she rounded a corner she saw a lone chaos marine with his back turned to her as while was prying open the door to the ship's engine room.

She pounced , slamming her blade into the back of his unarmored knee to take him down then ripping it out and slashing for his neck.
