Arden threw his arm and cloak around Vesryn hoping to keep her from getting frostbite.

Parath felt her egg move and she slowly stood up.

(I need to make the baby dragon's form)

Shadow walked in at the exact moment the egg was hatching humming a tune

(I'll create their form later)

Parath glanced towards him.

The egg started moving more until it could be heard making a cracking sound.

"Hey parath what's up?" shadow asked as he walked in

Parath glanced towards him and growled slightly. "My egg's hatching." she told him.

The cracking got louder and soon white cracks appeared on the egg shell.

Shadow's eyes lit up at that "Oh my god little parath!"

(Was the form accepted?)

Parath backed up a little, she could only watch.

Soon the egg split in two and a tiny baby dragon laid in the hay. It was Parath's exact appearance only smaller and with black scales instead of Parath's red scales.

"Oh god it's adorable!" Shadow exclaimed

Parath nodded and walked over to the baby dragon.

The baby dragon spread its wings out a little.

Shaddow also walked closer to it

Parath gently nudged it with her muzzle.

Ator blinked his eyes open and sniffed the air.

Shadow tried to pet the creature

Parath growled a little at Shadow but let him get close to Ator.

Ator sniffed and backed away from his hand fearfully.

"Hi there little one" Shadow said to the baby dragon

Parath laid down.

Ator sniffed his hand before he got close enough to pet.

slowly Shadow pet the little dragon

Parath sighed deeply. "I was thinking up a name as a waited, I was thinking of naming him Ator." she told Shadow.

Ator made slight purring sounds. His scales weren't rough but smooth for now.

"That's a good name, what happened to the father?" Shadow wondered

Parath growled. "Most males abandon their females to raise the child themselves." she said roughly.

Ator stood up a little wobbly.

"That doesn't sound like the dragons i used to read about" Shadow said to her "You don't seem much like the dragons of old either" Dragons at one time had been the care givers and friends of all the intelligent races. Most young ones were feral these days due to an elven course, and Parath seemed to have a bit of that too

Parath sighed deeply. "I'd rather not talk about that." she said, her tone sad.

Ator managed to stand and walk towards his mother.
