The Apex Predator

She waved her hand dismissively. "Nah, it's grand."

"Devi" He chides back as he plops down next to her.

"Yesy?" She asked, smiling all innocent like.

"If you don't tell me I'll stop paying for your Waterstones membership" He says sharply .

"No, no no no no no no," She shook her head, eyes widened as if he had just threatened the life of Dana. "You wouldn't dare."

His eyes narrow to cold soulless slits, and you know deep in your heart that he will do it if pushed .

"Monster," She declared, eyes still wide and mouth agape in shock.

"And I'll go on the internet and spoil the endings to your favorite books"

"This offends me on a molecular level," She said in horror, prepared to hold him down should he actually do as promised.

"Then tell me"He replies simply as he smiles warmly at her.

"It's nothing," she assured him. "Settle, petal."

"Devi why are you so stubborn? I just wanna know, you seemed upset about something, I dunno if yo go over it or something but can you just tell me?" He replies.

She just shrugged. "Maybe there could have been something else done, you know? I just dwell on it sometimes," She said. "But it doesn't matter. You better not cancel my Waterstones membership. Or spoil."

"Hmmn fine, I won't you've appeased my curiosity for now"He replies nodding as he throws fake punches at the vampires shoulder.

"Aahh," Devi grunted, feigning pain as she fell back on the sofa. "You've killed me."

Chris rolls his eyes at this "Are you bored right now?"

She sat up again. "I can never be bored in your company," She swooned, hands clasped beneath her chin as she looked at him through her lashes.

"Get out" He replies bluntly as he points to the door with his thumb , although he's obviously not serious.

She giggled, dropping the act. "I am a bit bored," She admitted.

"Yeah , there isn't much to do is there?" He replies nodding as he stares at his television.

"Am I not entertainment enough?" She grinned, blowing a kiss.

At this he scoops her up bridal style and starts carrying her over to the door.

"Oh, how romant-" She was cut off when she realised where he was headed. "Oh, are you kicking me out?"

He promptly kicks open the door tosses her shoes into the hallway and plops her on the ground before shutting the door.

"Awk, Chris," She whined. "Let me iiiinn."
