Uncharted Waters

He smiled at the pet name. "What kind of adventurer would I be without a map?" While he said this, he pulled the folded paper from his pocket to give proof to his words.

"Just making sure " Chris replies with a grin "Alright , so where are we going"

He unfolded the map, and took a few seconds to familiarise himself with it and pinpoint their current location. He trailed the path marked on it towards their destination lightly with the tip of his finger. "Uh... keep forward for now, turn left once we reach a stream." He continued following this trail with a finger. "We'll have to cross the stream a bit further on."

"Alright sounds good , and the location is a large ancient tomb in a jungle cavern down south right ?" Chris replies with a smile , by the end of this he'll definitely have Dev beat for that challenge ,not like she had a chance in the first place.

"Aye it is," He replied. "Hope we can find it okay."

"Well with out animal instincts I'm sure we'll find our way just fine" Chris replies in an imitation of those Australian guys on Discovery Channel.

He couldn't hold back his laughter that bubbled up from deep in his chest. "That was the worst Australian accent I have ever heard."

"Well sue me we were only there for a week" He replies with a grin as he locks fingers with the werewolf absent mindedly "But on the more serious side , my powers are feeling a little stronger right now"

Leo squeezed his hand gently. He arched a pale brow. Not that it's terribly noticeable as his eyebrows are virtually invisible. "That so?"

Chris nods "Yeah I dunno why but they definitely are " He replies as he raises a hand and hard green scales begin to cover it's surface , before reverting to the normal smooth skin.

"Huh," He said curiously. "That's cool."

"Not really ,your powers are much cooler " He replies calmly as he adjusts the collar of his light green button down shirt .

His gaze returned to the path in front of him. "Mm," He replied, somewhat unconvinced.

"I mean you turn into a big ass wolf..... that's pretty cool dude " Chris replies with a laugh but stops abruptly when he hears the sound of voices , quickly signalling for Leo to remain quiet .

Evidently, Leo didn't share his opinions. But that could wait, for now Leo slowed and glanced towards the source of the voices.

Chris crouched down releasing Leo's hand as he slinks into the forest ,beckoning for Leo to follow.

Leo follows suit, though his lanky limbs were clearly entirely unsuited to sneaking about.

Chris decides to just piggy back him and somehow manages to silently slink through the low hanging vines and gnarled roots of the trees until they reach the edge and find themselves looking down on a massive labyrinthine gorge where voices can be heard yelling out orders.

Leo was really trying not to laugh at the ridiculousness of this situation.

Slowly Chris sets him down and whispers "Do you think they're here for the treasure as well?"

"Well I doubt they're here to admire the view," Leo replied as he watched the strangers bustling about. "We should get the treasure before they get their bearings then." He cast Chris a smile. This has gotten infinitely more exciting.

Chris grins , goosebumps forming on his skin "Sounds good enough"

He grinned, grabbed Chris' hand and ran off in the direction of the treasure. Well, he had to stop to check the map a few times of course.

Chris grins and follows energetically , being very careful not to make too much noise as they slink through the caverns.

"Have you done anything like this before?" Leo asked, because honestly Chris looked right at home.
