Uncharted Waters

"That doesn't look ominous at all," He murmured, peering at the staircase.

"Yeah I dunno about all this , that staircase doesn't look very stable " Chris replies with a nod.

Honestly Leo was ready to go home now. But perhaps not if they had to climb that blasted cliff face again.

"But if we turn back now we'll have to climb up that cliff again so" Chris states and begins making his way down the stairs.

Oh that cliff. He hated that cliff. He hoped this stupid treasure was going to be worth it as he followed Chris down, although much slower.

At the bottom of the staircase there is a long hallway lit by torches of green flame , coffins not unlike those used by pharaohs line the walls ominously , their eyes staring down at the two as they pass through.

Leo shuffled closer to Chris. This was too creepy for him.

Chris shuffles closer to Leo , as he is very spooked as well.

Leo was not comforted at this. Chris is currently his protector.

Chris can't help it , he's very frightened by all this to be honest.

Leo is accepting the fact they were going to die.

Chris will not accept this and marches through like a champ.

Leo was in awe of him right now. Not that that makes a change because honestly he is always in awe of Chris.

Chris is still scared , but he's gonna do this anyway , he continues to march through until they exit the hallway and find themselves in front of a set of golden bejewelled sarcophagus.

Leo wondered idly why he hadn't pissed himself yet. He imagined Chris would dump him on the spot if he did. Yeah, best to just hold it in.

"Hmmm , those guys found their way here so...Why haven't they dug these out yet?" Chris murmurs.

"Maybe they pissed themselves before they could get too close," Leo suggested.

"Yeah , maybe" Chris replies with a chuckle , then one of the coffins swings open and he leaps back like seven feet "Holy crap!" Out of the coffin falls several bodies , all of them wearing the same uniform as those mercenaries from before.

Leo also starts when the bodies fall from the coffins, hand covering his mouth.

"This is not worth it...At all" He states.

He gave a slow nod. "Remind me why we are here again?"

"Treasure?" He replies with a nervous chuckle.

"You're right," He said softly, still staring at the mass of bodies. "It's not worth it."

Chris abruptly turns around and begins to walk out of the body filled corridor.

"However," Leo continued, gaze shifting slowly towards Chris. "We did come this far..."
