Rin's face drew into a look of pure shock, her hand reaching up towards her mouth. "No way!"

"I know, I know it sounds crazy but you're going to have to trust me on this" rook said playing serious as well

"Oh, I don't think I can," She said, shaking her head. "You're talking crazy talk."

"You just need to believe." Rook pleaded

"Okay..." She took in a deep breath as if steeling herself, before standing up on fake wobbly legs. "Woah!"

Rook fake steadied her, it looked like they were going to ride this sarcasm train all the way to somewhere they can practice "I know it's hard at first but you'll get used to it"

"Too shocking... Can't cope..." With a dramatic sigh, her hand raised daintily to her forehead and she pretended to faint.

"Will the wonders of this world ever cease to amaze us?" Rook asked making a show of catching her as she pretended to faint, then he laughed not longer able to keep up the act.

She snorted, peeking up at him with one eye open. The other followed. "Certainly not. Particularly poor delicate simple ladies such as myself." She said airily, in an impersonation of those stupid, pale noble ladies who can barely stand the sight of a drop of blood or who have never laced their sandals in their lives.

"It is true, only a select few of us men folk can handle the astounding realities of life... now let's get you back to the kitchen where it's safe" he joked, as stuck up as Rookwood could be at times, his experiences at the academy had dispelled many of the sexist notions of society, as it had for most of his families, being part of a group that shoots lightning from their hands really puts things in perspective apparently.

Meanwhile

The losing team has exited the stadium ,and only the winners remain , as a r of fire erupts around the pit entrapping them in and illuminating the stadium with red flickering light.

Rook is distracted by this and watches with curiousity

On a balcony high above the rest of the stadium a figure begins to walk out as the sound of drums and wield piercing flutes echoes from all around.

Rook continued to watch

Rin grinned. This should be interesting.

Slowly the figure , flanked by two others comes into view and the crowd roars , a woman tall , with brown skin and a golden crown adorned by a single shining blue jewel , next to her a man , massive and adorned in much gold jewelry and a strange feathered helm , and on her other side a cloaked figure with the face of a skull and glowing red eyes.

Rook finds this ominous

Rin on the other hand is loving this.

The woman walked to the edge of the balcony and raises a jade spear , the crowd s nuts.

Rook would like them to just get on with whatever was happening

After about 10 more minutes stuff starts to happen. As in massive walls begin to erupt from the floor of the dirt , separating the Sox man team into two man squads. Each squad is given weapons , and three wild beasts are allowed into each walled off mini pit. In one a massive green jaguar , in another a massive two headed bat , in the third a dragon.

"They're fucked" rook observed

Rin was ready to leave the bloody stadium as it was taking donkey's years to frigging to anything. But just as she was about to say "Fuck this shit I'm out", she spotted the walls growing from the ground. Her manic grin returned at the sight of the creatures, and she climbed upon her chair for a better look.

"Rin i know you're from a less civilized people but that's not how you use a chair" Rook couldn't resist taking a small verbal jab at her

"Shut your hole, Rook," She replied, although barely took notice of him.
