The Apex Predator

" You know I just don't wanna catch a case out here for assault and battery " He continues still laughing loudly.

She groaned into the cushion.

"See that , that's the sound you'd be making as you woke up from your three-day coma" He replies doubled over with laughter.

"I really hate you sometimes," She murmured, though there was no venom in this statement.

" No, you really don't "he replies confidently" You wuv me , wuv me a whole lot"

"Whatever you say..." She mumbled, chuckling. "Hey, they say if you stare into someone's eyes for two minutes without breaking eye contact, they will fall in love with you."

"Lies, I once stared into the eyes of a dog for two minutes and we haven't talked in two years" He replies smirking as he sits next to her.

She laughed, moving her feet so he had room to sit. "Bless."

He chuckles along with her as he relaxes a bit on the couch,allowing the wear and tear of his long day of training to slowly fade away . He raises an eyebrow and glances over to Dev "Now why, if I may ask are you bringing that up?"

"You brought up the topic of love first," She reminded him. "Or, rather, wuv."

"Yeah , wuv, the two are entirely different you see" He replies taking on a stern tone that reminds you of a college professor.

"Please enlighten me then, oh grand master," She said, dipping into a mock bow. Or as much as she was able, considering she was sitting down.

"Hmmn fine, I will enlighten your plebeian mind with my words of knowledge" He replies nodding before clearing his throat loudly " Love is a profoundly tender affection for another , wuv is Absolutely adoring said person and almost everything they do and wanting to remain bestest buddies with that person until the day of your death"He explains sharply as he checks his pocket watch and blows on his bubble pipe.

"My ignorance has been quenched," Devi said, nodding seriously. "I am forever in your debt."

He simply shakes his head,not even looking up from his novel.

She grinned and leaned over to give him a wee cheeky peck on the cheek whilst he wasn't paying attention. Since she was wearing bright red lipstick, it left a kiss mark on his cheek.

He just raises an eyebrow "I'm gonna go get a napkin" He states in mock disgust .

She stuck her tongue out at him, before leaning back on the sofa with a smug expression.

He gets a sanitized napkin and wipes the lipstick off before throwing it into the trash can "What was that?"

"Huh?" She asked, looking over to him.

He responds by kissing her on the cheek the same way "See it's weird"

"It would only be weird if you were also wearing lipstick," She replied, grinning.

"See I would but I don't think I could pull red off, also I don't like lipstick" He replies smirking.

"Only one way to find out," She replied with a wink.

"I'm not putting lipstick on, I'm not at that level of fabulous" He replies still laughing although he's shaking his head.
