Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel

Lamb rubs the bandage on his leg and grimaces, "Bloody fucking bandits, think the bastards would lighten up seeing as how elves are invading, but no." He looks over Arden's shoulder, "Where's your sister?"

"I thought she was with you" Arden said , this revelation made him worry for his sister, but not too much, she could take care of herself either way, probably better than lamb and soren could. Still these were dangerous days even for the strongest of people.

Lamb looks somewhat panicked at that, "Haven't seen her since we got separated."

Soren just flicks his gaze between the two men, silent

"She's probably safer not having to babysit you" Arden joked to lamb pushing his own fears aside "She may even have already arrived."

Lamb glances hopefully over his shoulder as the city, "with any luck you're right."

"I am sure she is fine," Vesryn replied, perhaps a little insensitively. "We need to continue." She didn't even wait for an answer before making her way towards the city, she just assumed they all would follow.

Arden shook his head and followed  "As you cab see Ves here absolutely overflows with sensitivity, it's really difficult to contain at times. Arden joked, he was in a good mood, their journey had been very pleasant since they left the cave.

Lamb limps after them with a pained grunt, "I'd expect no less from her. She's gotta make up for you after all."

Sore lopes easily after them

Vesryn didn't reply, although she could hear them clearly. She just powered on, eyes and ears searching for danger automatically while she did so.

Arden was smiling as he walked at her side "It'd probably be best if i led the way dear" Elves were not exactly a welcome site these days

"Of course..." She replied, evidently not happy about it. Although it was probably smart, and so she slowed slightly so she was sort of behind Arden but still technically beside him.

Arden clearly wasn't happy about it either, the way people shot suspicious looks at her when his back was turned he was especially not happy about, but they could not yet change it and had to deal with it for the time being. Of course when they reached the gates are the guards were giving Ves suspicious looks, one who looked like a knight even insulted her and arden asking what a sneaky knife ear and her pet king were doing dirtying this land. After a short duel that ended in arden ripping out the man's liver and throwing him into a moat, the other terrified guards let him pass into the northern capitol city, which was no marvel by any means. Dirt streets, buildings made of wood or grey stone and high walls. It was functional not pretty.

"I can fight my own battles," Vesryn said, rather unfazed by this occurrence, once had taken care of that business.

Lamb seems torn between shock at the knight's disembowelment and anger that Arden hadn't let him kill the man for him. But follows dutifully behind his friend.

Soren's mood seems markably improved after watching the duel

"I know you could kill all those idiots in a second, but there will be problems if people think i'm your "Pet king" Arden said showing a level of understanding of northern politics. Ves of course was his equall, but for now he had to show these people he was strong,and not being manipulated by an elven agenda if he wanted any respect in the north. Which meant dealing with people who accused him of being a "Pet King" personally

"But you are my pet king," she smirked, and wrapped one arm around him.

Lamb gags visibly at the two of them

"Only in the non political sense love" Arden smiled putting his arm around the elf woman as well, flipping lamb off with the same hand

Vesryn shot Lamb a murderous look.

Lamb tries to act like that look doesn't scare him but fails, and one hand even goes reflexively to his belt for his dagger. Only to find an empty sheath, he left that blade in the throat of a bandit two days ago

Satisfied, Vesryn turned her attention back to her husband and the road ahead. She was even more on edge than usual, gaze flicking around and head turning at every sound. She didn't grab a blade,  as she wasn't too keen on giving them a reason to shoot her, but she kept her hand hovered over a dagger at her hip regardless.

The wooden houses and lack of showiness made this capitol even humbler than that of the east, but the walls were both ancient and strong and everyone seemed to carry a sword which didn't seem to bother Arden too much

Lamb drops his hand away, feeling ever so slightly like an idiot. With another pained grunt he limps forward faster to catch up to Arden, "Remind me what we're doing here?"

"We're trying to forge an alliance between Soren's people and the high king" Arden reminded his friend

Lamb nods, "Oh yeah...how you plan on doing that?"
