Emron answered to his worried mother. "I was more worried about you than me honestly... How is Epona? She seems down for some reason..." Emron said a she noticed the way Epona was acting.

Epona did indeed seem down.

Veronica seemed to have walked in and waved to the shaman.

He had died again, it had been during his session with old master, he remembers it so vividly..because it had just happened . Once again he awakens in a pool of green liquid , however this time Old Master is standing over him a hand out "Again" is all the old man states as he lifts up Piri. What has he gotten himself into now? Piri takes the hand only to be struck down again with a vicious strike to the nose, Piri cries out in pain clutching his bleeding nose as Old Master begins to walk away "Are you a fool boy...I am your opponent, and you never trust your opponent , now get up and change quickly..into your Gi ,we have much work to do" with that he leaves. Piri curses under his breath picking himself up while wiping away the mix of snot and blood pooling on his upper lip, cruel old bastard. He grins as he goes to change into his assassin's robes , a navy blue garment , embroidered with ceremonial elven runes and created to allow easy stealth, although he struggles to get on his thick leather bracers he eventually finishes and runs off to go find old master. After a long sarch through the nearby mountain passes surrounding the hidden fortress he finds him standing looking out onto the snow covered valley far below them . The wind bites with ice and chill but the old elf doesn't flinch at all "Good..you finally managed to pull your head from your buttocks and found me, at least you were quicker than last time"

Ysabel glanced to Epona, before focusing again on Emron. She didn't want to say in front of everyone, as it could be extremely detrimental to Epona's image. "I shall tell you later," She said, though would only do so if Epona was comfortable with it.

Epona looked at her mother. "It's okay........you can tell him, I don't care anymore." she said before she started walking to their room.

Veronica had became confused as to why the princess was acting this way.

Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel Empty Re: Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel

Post by KiloSasha Sun Sep 18, 2016 1:00 pm

The night dragged on, seemingly forever. Vesryn had stopped with the cardio when her muscles ached and she could go now further, and had simply sat alone with her thoughts. She jolted awake after her eyes fluttered close and her head lolled onto her chest, and gave an almighty yawn. It was probably time for rotation anyway. She was about to shake Rowan awake when something caught her eye. Shadows seemed to flicker along the ground that was still stained with the green wash, and many soft footfalls echoed and crunched, the only other sound save for Vesryn's own breathing. Her hand immediately closed around her bow that lay beside her, and she grabbed an arrow, rising to her feet. She spun slowly, trying to pinpoint where the sounds were coming from, but it seemed like they were coming from all angles, surrounding them and trapping them like rats.

Rowan was still awake, he had been up all night watching the sky so far. He didn't catch the sound at first but became alert when he saw vesryn reach for her bow, and soon heard the sounds. He glanced at vesryn as he reached for his staff, and nudged moria with it, as arden was closer to ves and more soundly asleep.

"Arden!" Vesryn said, nudging him with a foot to try and wake him up. It was unfortunate, as she wished him a sound night because he clearly didn't have one the previous night. But alas, that can't be so. One of the lumbering figures came into view, and the elf raised her bow, drawing the string back to her cheek. However, she didn't loose the arrow yet, instead gave them ample time to state their business.

~

Morina groaned loudly, swatting at Rowan's staff sleepily. "Go away..." After this, she murmured some incomprehensible words before rolling over.

"Wake up!" Rowan hissed, as he whacked morina lightly on the head with his staff "We're surrounded wake up" he hissed quietly again aiming his staff at the figure so the tip glowed red, ready to fire a burning magic bolt

Arden awoke not even seeing the figure his groggy hand reached for his arming sword out of instinct

"Oww..." She whined, clutching her head where he hit it. His words spurred her into action, however, and she pulled herself up, heart pounding. She looked around at the figures wide eyed, guessing it must be the work of the necromancer.

They came ever closer, more of them coming into the view but they were all still partially concealed in shadows and stained with the green light. The one closest to them seemed to be walking quite awkwardly, with one foot twisted right back. Still it hobbled along, mouth hanging open and it's white eyes, like two large moons, stared straight towards them. At the sight of this, Vesryn loosed the arrow, and the thing went straight down. At the sight of their fallen comrade, a scream pierced the air, an ungodly, inhuman sound that no animal should ever make, and the creatures increased their pace. Ones that could run, did so at a surprising speed. Others crawled, pulling their legless disfigured bodies along the ground, or lumbered with most of their torso missing. Vesryn shot three more down, before they came too close to do so, and she simply tossed the bow to the side and produced her twin blades, slicing at any that came too close. They weren't hard to kill, but they didn't appear to acknowledge pain and the vast numbers of them could easily trample the group to the ground.

Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel Empty Re: Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel

Post by The Lord Regent Mon Sep 19, 2016 1:36 am

As vesryn was trying to hold the zombies at bay with her bow Rowan had quickly cast one of his incantations  which conjured a jet of magic fire from his non staff holding hand and burned a path through the undead trying to move up from the rear he then began casting magic bolts from his staff at any other attempting to flank them.

Arden too rose to his feet bashing in the nearest undead's skull with the pommel of his longsword and with precision and strength decapitating another as he drew said sword

Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel Empty Re: Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel

Post by KiloSasha Wed Sep 21, 2016 1:01 pm

The zombies that received the most of Rowan's magic, went down immeditately, but the many of them simply brushed it off as if it were nothing, as limbs burned and fell to the ground. They kept coming, like endless waves, an unending swarm of the undead. Those that had arms were surprisingly strong, and their teeth could bite through bone.
Vesryn felt her braid being pulled, and her head snapped back painfully. She kicked the zombie that she had previously been fighting back, before spinning and plunging her blade through the neck of the creature whose hand was wrapped firmly around her hair. However, more pressed in, clawing at her faster than she was able to cut them down. They would swarm the group, seperating them all. Illusion won't work; their mind... well, Vesryn couldn't find it. They were like empty, soulless husks. And the stench. She was familiar with the scent of rotting flesh, but that didn't make it any more pleasant.

~

Morina, completely unsuited in every way, shape and form for combat, spun in a panicked circle as she stared in horror at the oncoming hoard. They quickly swarmed her, and she had to cover her mouth and nose to prevent herself from vomiting at the sight and smell of them. "Rowan!" She cried, trying to free herself before she is lost amidst the sea of undead.

"Form a bubble field Mori!" He shouted as Morina was surrounded, fear jolted through him, fear for Mori, and without taking time to weigh the odds Rowan charged the horde, letting energy flow through his staff he hit the nearest one in the chest , from the  shockwave of the strike an entire group was blasted back crushing bones to the point many simply could not get up. Though it was taxing his only thought was that he had to get to Morina, he couldn't let her die not like this. He would soon tire though, and be overwhelmed by those rising  around him if he could not break through.

Arden Was having  little difficulty unlike the others, as the moon called to him not so much as it did the night before but he was regaining his stamina as fast as he  lost it, and being a powerhouse he threw around any zombies that got passed his blade like children, and with his ner armor the zombies had trouble harming him, as he guarded his head well. Seeing vesryn in trouble and being, surrounded, he cut a bath through the undead to her, they were grass and he was the lawn mower. He pushed down the undead  grabbing at here from behind "With the mage!" he called, seeing rowan pushing through which seemed the only way out, and pulled her  behind him. Pushing down more undead that had been engaged with her before following

Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel Empty Re: Rise of humanity: The Saga Of Steel

Post by KiloSasha Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:04 pm

"I...I.." She was trying. But due to the stressful situation, Morina could barely concentrate, and she needed a lot of that for force fields. She jumped back at the jolt of magic Rowan produced, sending the beasts flying. She cast him an appreciative smile, but at the site of his clearly waning energy and the sea of zombies that swarmed him, swallowing him in their mass, her expression contorted into that of horror. "Rowan!" She didn't even acknowledge the fact that she had screamed his name, as her stomach flipped, and she tried, tried to free him from the undead, but it didn't take long for them to swarm her too.

~

Being that she had been up all night thus far, and the fact she had been almost asleep before this started, was extremely detrimental to her remaining stamina levels, which waned too fast for her liking. Still, she didn't believe in giving up, especially when her life was on the line, and kept going even when her arms felt heavy and her feet clumsy. Her new armour protected her from anything, though, thankfully. She couldn't help but steal a glance at Arden as he easily cut down the hoards, though her expression remained stoic and serious, despite the appreciation she felt for his being here. But that can wait, for now she had to focus on the issue at hand. At his grabbing her, she spun, almost impaling him with her blade, before she recognised his huge form. She gave him a nod at his words, before ducking down to grab her bow she had abandoned on the ground and grabbing his hand so they wouldn't be separated.

Morina was too shocked to cry out as Arden burst forward and grabbed her and Rowan from the midst of the zombies, sending some of them flying. But her gaze immediately landed on Rowan, fear and concern filling her eyes as she made sure he was okay. She immediately cursed herself for it, however. He was the one who had hurt her before. Time would only repeat itself.

~

Vesryn kept up as much as she could, following Arden closely and being able to do so due to the zombies he shoved out of his way in his wake. She sliced at the occasional beast as she passed, and she could feel them pressing against her on all sides, quickly filling up the space Arden had left. They were closing in on her. Trapping her. She couldn't escape. All sides were filled with the hideous, rancid creatures, and she choked on the stench of them. Hands grappled her, pulling her down, deeper into the hoard. She fought against them, blood spraying each time she sliced with her blades, but it wasn't enough. It was never enough.

Arden cursed, as he saw Vesryn grabbed by the creatures, he threw the others clear  of the horde  and did  the only thing he could do... grabbed a zombie by the leg and ran in swinging it at anything in his path on his way to ves, as he had dropped his blade

Post by KiloSasha Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:55 pm

(I didn't want it to be like "Oh no, a few zombies" and it to end a minute later. I wanted it to be a bit more of a challenge, for them to experience even a little bit of fear. The numbers are a bit unrealistic, I know, but shhhh. If there were only a few, I didn't think it would have been worth it.)

Vesryn saw him barge into the hoard, and she grappled with them in her haste to free herself, slicing and stabbing anything that touched her. She was now drenched in blood and guts and some other substances she wasn't sure she wanted to know the origin of. When he was close enough, she reached out her hand, shoving her way through the undead.
