It was a shity bus in the midle of nowhere

Sky would be beaten around in the back of the deserted bus when all the vehicle jumped when it reached a big ass bump. She groaned and had to hold the need to vomit, that highway in the middle of nowhere wasn't exactly the best, it had clearly seen better times. She grunted, straightening up on the rusty seat, staring at a big patch if mold, imagining how those bumps would be delievering all the spores on that thing, and how she was provably breathing in all that crap. She looked down at her phone, switching songs, and looked at messages, bored as hell.

When the desert cleared she would reach Ghosttown. The name was accurate to a point, abandoned buildings lined the streets; some were decrepit but others were oddly well maintained. If the teen ever looked closely at one of the buildings she might be able to see things with strange proportions through windows and in alleys. Where the town didn't live up to its name was in its population. Occasional camps of vagrants with makeshift tents and fires could be seen along the sidewalks, all the residents had looks in their eyes that were half desperate and half insane. All in all this side of town was not exactly a nice place to visit. It took quite some time for her to reach her destination, the whole time very little changed outside aside from the faces on the homeless and the type of buildings that were abandoned. Even the bus driver seemed nervous when he finally turned into the abandoned apartment complex and stopped in front of the only building that looked in working order. New and remodeled the building was three stories tall, with four rooms per story. "Are you sure you want to get out here miss?" the driver asked looking back to his passenger.

Sky would have been mostly ignoring the world outside the dirty windows, staring at the screen of her phone with her headphones on her head. When the bus stoped she sighed and looked to the building as she got up, grabing her bags and starting to walk to the door. "Aye, thanks for the ride" She said in a quite apathetic tone.

The driver didn't stick around long after she stepped out. By the time she reached the sidewalk they were already pulling out of the lot; eager to get out of the ghosttown before the sun set. She was left alone outside of the restored apartments surrounded by silent derelict buildings in the red light of a setting sun.

Sky looked around for a mome t at the deserted street, that whole place made her feel uneasy. She was used to big streets filled with people at all times, that silence and solitude felt almost unnatural. She augmented the volume on her headphones and walked towards the door, knocking on it before placing her hands in her pockets

A man about two years older than her, and three inches shorter than her opened the door with a book tucked under one arm. While the book was covered in strange eldritch markings and radiated a strange energy, the man himself was wearing a normal Tshirt and jeans. "Howdy, I take it you're here for the covenant?" He asked trying for a friendly smile, even as his eyes scanned the growing shadows around them "I'm Torin, a sorcerer, come on in..." He stepped aside for her to enter the building.

So that was a amusing view, a wizard in a good old Tshirt on, Sky thought. It looked like he didnt have the stick so up his ass as some of the guys that had given her the chat about being supernatural. "Hey, I'm Sky, uh..they told me to come here and that I'm a dragon" She said as she walked into the building.

As she walked into the stairwell with doors to apartments going of it, Torin closed the door behind her and began locking it with a deadbolt, chain, padlock, and a massive metal bar that he seemed to have slight trouble lifting. "Security..." Torin explained as he did "Not to keep you in or anything, it's to keep the things out there out. I don't know about you, but I very much like not being killed in my sleep. Good to meet you by the way Sky; did your parents have a sense of humor or was that a coincidence?" He joked.

"I mean, I never actually meet them, sooo...maybe they were assholes and did it on purpose, maybe thats why they left" *she shruged, making a bit of a self joke. "So, anyone else in the Covenant?"

Torin chuckled awkwardly upon hearing she was an orphan, well that joke of his might have been ill placed. As she changed the subject he gladly seized upon the new one "Yeah there's a shifter. Somewhat stoic, and distant, but a rugged sort... You said you were just told to come here, do you know what our assignment is?"

"A shifter? Oooh, yeah, a furry one, right? I am a bit new to all the..uh..supernatural" she answered back "oh, only I know is I couldnt leave and that we would make a covenant"

"Yeah think of a covenant as having permanent roommates slash coworkers, who eat your food." Torin joked before going on to explain to her "Well it's a bit Ironic, a dragon would be the one trying to process the supernatural world. Basically we're here to try and catalog the vast number of hauntings and cryptids in the area, and deal with some of the more dangerous ones if we can. This place is mostly outside of the council's control; supernaturals are running wild preying on humans and each other; the council wants to change that, and we're like a recon force."

"Again..been a dragon for less than a year, still hard to not go full gold hoarder scaly flamethrower with wings. And damn...sounds like quite a bad place to live in" She sighed, of course it had to be such a fucked up place.

"I'll be sure to keep my vast riches under lock and key then..." Torin joked, and motioned to the rooms around them "Well it may be dangerous, but at least it's won't boring. by the way most of the rooms are free, you're welcome to whichever you want"

"Mkay, thanks, and I will have to finish filling the college papers" Sky grunted, realising that she would be fighting monsters and such while still going to college to study, almost like a bloody tv show or comic.

"Well try not to die, you're too busy." Torin joked, which may or may not have been a paraphrasing of Eclesiarch Goge Vandire "I'm going to go make some food, you want some?" He asked as he started to go towards his own room.

"Aye, I am starving, wait..was that uh..a reference?" Sky asked, wanting to make sure, she didnt want to come out as a nerd, so she wanted to play it safe.

"Do you think it is?" Torin asked rather vaguely, possibly to mess with the woman who seemed to be trying to play things cool as he headed to go make something to eat in his room.

"Sounds like one" Sky shruged, again trying to play it cool with her max charisma of a reclusive teen who was confortable ignoring the existence of otger human beings

A reclusive Teen now alone in the stairwell, feeling like she was being watched from outside.

Sky looked at the door, feeling rwally uneasy, and almost runned into his room to get away from whatever was outside.

She walked into a white walled one bedroom apartment with a bit of generic furniture that probably came with the place. That said a lot of personal possessions were laid out; that gave the room personality, a bookshelf full of scifi and fantasy books including ones from both of the good warhammers, a games console and tv set up in the living room with an absolute mountain of games next to it both new and old. Poorly made novelty weapons could also be found on the walls including most notably to her an astartes power sword. The kitchen especially seemed a bit more his own with cooking implements that looked like old timey wizarding tools and such. He looked mildly embarrassed at the theme of his kitchen which he really hadn't thought ahead on; murmured a vague excuse about family heirlooms, and swiftly changed the subject.

Sky would walk into the room, surprised to see all that, she looked at the comics with curiosity, but the sword picked up her interest much more. "Holy shit, is that what ai think it is?"
