The Praetorium info

As the children are now taught in school; the great failure of democracy took place forty years ago the world was brought to the brink of a third world war by the political games Americans, the Chinese, and the Russians. The war was devastating claiming the lives of millions upon million of soldiers, before the nukes started to fly; the eastern united states, california, the entirety of europe, east asia, the middle east, and northern south america were rendered uninhabitable (as of this day no civilize folk inhabit those regions) and the rest of the world would have soon followed if not for the Praetorians; a society of elite individuals in command of an army of super humans stepped in to put an end to the fighting; they toppled the governments of the old world and united humanity in an era of peace and rebuilding; for the good of the many we are ruled by a few, to whom even the great metahumans willingly kneel… at least that is what they teach us. A few miscreants however claim beneath the facade of benevolence the Praetorians have a number of skeletons in their closet, rumors abound of children displaying metahuman powers being taken by the Praetorians; that their army of supermen was not gained so willingly after all, a few even say that they set the war in motion in the first place; obviously these claims are dismissed as mere conspiracy theories by right thinking folk, and those who spread such rumors are rightly sentenced to death for the public good, and while it is true that some of the remaining areas around the world must sacrifice for the good of others; several regions have never seen more prosperity.

Regions

North American Region: Generally life here is not so bad, it has a lot of loosely controlled agricultural regions with some far more strictly controlled mining, and oil regions; although with the strict control comes praetorian technology, and protection from the occasional mutant aberrations that attack more rural communities. On an unrelated not the region has several functioning Praetorian genetic modification and splicing research labs. There are a good number of cities here


Australia: A resort continent for the wealthy with a bit of agriculture and fishing

West Asia Region: oil and factories.

Africa: Having finally been thoroughly exploited for most of its natural resources, most of south and central africa is a giant lumber farm, while the rest has been filled with air conditioned sweatshops and factories, at least disease is down thanks to praetorian technology. The locals are educated as well, and taught that their entire history is akin to the congo and somalia in the early two thousands. Nations that were stable have been turned into nice urban communities from which the praetorians can recruit security forces and government personnel.

South American Region: Africa two basically, but with a lot more agricultural production and less sweatshops
