"Yeah, a bit..." He said

"....Ok , basically share cropping is a step under that , at least legally , in practice often times it was exactly the same except you can't sell share croppers" He explains.

"Did they whip share croppers?" Ez asked curiously

"In some cases no , in others yes ....some would say we've got rights down there , and maybe in writing we do....but we don't really , and it's only worse cuz I'm what you call a 'double threat' , could hang the two of us from a tree and people would just take photos" He replies grimly as he chews a bit on his cigar "Aside from that , I guess I should explain why I'm a mutant but don't really look it eh?"

"Well you wouldn't think they'd know you were a mutant but sure" He said

"When I was a kid , before I was old enough to pick cotton , I was messing with the machine that packaged the cotton with a stick ,because I was a dumbass , and tweaked a screw holding together the magical engine that ran the whole thing , it burst open and I got doused in the radiation , now one of my eyes is yellow and the other is blue , so I suppose that's how people figure it out"

"Hey I didn't agree to this" Lori protested.

"123 not it!"Ez said quickly

"And you called me the child"

"....Get out of the fucking plane Lori"

She grumbled and shuffled out, dragging her feet.

"Thanks"

"Shut up"

"I don't have to , now look around a bit , what do you see so far?" He asks through a speaker on the side of the plane.

"A whole load of" she blew a raspberry.

"Do you want me to go check?" he asked knowing lori would do something dumb

With a flip of a small switch he flips off the speaker"Why the hell did you let her come along? And why doesn't she in anyway act her age?" He replies bluntly with an entirely unamused expression. "This is a dangerous place we're in , you care about 'er that much is clear as crystal....so if you knew she's well....a bit dumb , why'd you bring 'er?"

"She's really good at punching things" Ezrune said simply "Like really, really good"

"So are bullets , cept they tend to punch through " He replies as he finishes up the cigar .

"So does she" Ezrune said

"Well shit if she's that strong then by all means , just don't want you to get all upset if something right awful happens " He replies "You should go after her though ."

"Yeah probably" Ez said and headed out after her

Hill sighs "Just let him come along and scout out the area for any life." He replies flatly "I'll keep watch from here."
