A Hill in the desert .

"I can't afford a gun, you buy me a gun"

"You can buy a gun when we're done here and get paid" He said

"Hey...think that's a landing strip over there" Hill notes as he swoops underneath a wide arch of rock , a decrepit old airport strip can be seen covered in sand and debris.

"I'll use you as target practice" she said to Ez with a grin. "Oh gross," she noted at the state of the airport.

Ez poked her with his tongue

"EW GET OFF ME" Lori cried, and ran to the other end of the plane.

"Hehehe" He chuckled

"Monster"

"...Well that was a bit unnecessary don't you think...by the way get your seatbelts back on you simpletons we're about to land" Hill demands.

Ez strapped himself in

Lori sat as far away from ez as she could get, sticking her tongue out at him.

"....Dear God is that a four year old back there?" Hill asks sharply as he slowly deploys the planes landing wheels.

"Uh rude I'll have you know I am at least mentally a six year old."

"Does she have a high chair ? Someone get her a high chair"

Ez began laughing

"Shut the fuck up"

Hill laughs as he manages with effort to land the plane on the air strip "One of you meat shields go out and investigate."

"You heard the man lori" Ez said

"Now that ain't very gentleman-like of you Ez...sending the lady out into danger" Hill quips as he turns to look back at the mutant with an amused look as he tries , and fails to light a his cigar "Damn enchanted Cubans , they're great when you manage to light I swear " He explains with a small hint of embarrassment in his smile. "So , while we Lori goes out there and tries her best to avoid a rapid increase in blood-lead balance, wanna tell me a bit about yourself?"

"Let me get that for you..." ez lit the cigar with a small fireball "Well truth be told i'm from out west, before it became a hellscape and all that." He said "I'm what you call a true mutant, meaning not even angelic rebirth will cure me since I was born a mutant like my parents" he explained "They were good folk, mutated mages from germany initially, but... well you know how germany got about mutants..."

He nods and smiles warmly in thanks for the light "I'm a mutant too actually if you'll believe it , I wasn't born it , got my mutation in an accident on the plantation where I was born" He explains then takes a drag , letting out a small puff of red smoke as he exhales "....So you were born out here before this place became America's record holding largest sandpit?.....What was it like?"

"Pretty great, we lived on a mutant reservation, but it wasn't too bad, we made the most of it, had a nice little small town, made furniture and traded it with outsiders, like the amish but fun wasn't outlawed" Ez explained

"My parents were sharecroppers so...so you can probably guess how that was"

"We shared crops too where I come from..." There education system was lacking...

"Not....not what I meant , umm let me explain , you've definitely heard of slavery right?"
