God I hate you

"... Okay," He said, somewhat flustered aso everything was happening so fast, and before he knew it he was standing alone under a tree holding a phone number.

(Later that evening)

 Candy chops up some tomatoes in the kitchen , phone nearby on the counter , he's kept it nearby all day just in case. His nerves stopped all together when he saw Demetri's cute little blush , but that doesn't mean he's not still embarrassingly infatuated .

Demetri was pacing in his room, glancing to his phone which lay tantalising on his bed every so often. It was calling to him, that phone. Like it wanted him to call Candy. But was it too late? He was unsure about proper dating etiquette, as he was all very new to this whole thing. With a sudden burst of enerdy,  he grabbed the phone, dialing in Candy's number, but before he could hit call, he stopped. Was it too early? Would he look desperate? He threw the phone back on the bed and rolled onto his back. God, this sucks.

Candy hums a song along in spanish , swaying his hips about a little a he continues cutting up the vegetables with vigor. He knows Demetri will call him when he's ready , and his thirst isn't strong enough to get him to pick up the phone on his own.

It took Demetri a further twenty minutes - which felt about two hours to him - before he finally called Candy.

As he picks up the phone the first words he hears are in  rapid spanish as Candy sings full volume  into the phone "Zumbale el mambo pa' que mis gatas prendan los motores

 Que se preparen que lo que viene es pa que le den, duro!"

"Hi," Demetri said in a meek voice, before it was drowned out by very loud Spanish music, which made him fall off the bed in surprise and hold the phone about siXD inches away from his ear. His first and immediate thiught was Candy had given him the wrong number.

"Hola" Candy replies warmly as he hums along with the tune "So what's up guaps? I know you , you're too you to just call me up for no reason"

"Oh," He said, relief washing over him when he realised he had not dialed into like a Spanish radio. "Um," He was still utterly at a loss at what to say, and unsurprisingly hated it. "...hi."

"Oh , you did" Candy replies , surprise and confusion obvious though he continues humming the tune .

Demetri was sorta silent for a while, his mind completely devoid of possible conversation starters.

"Maybe you should call me back when you have something to say" He suggests with a flattered smile , heart fluttering a bit at the thought of D just calling him up for no reason , just to hear his voice "Now if you'll let me get back to my song....Mamita yo se que tu no te me va' a quitar (duro!)

If Demetri had been there to watch it would have been quite the sight , Candy's hips twisting and shaking energetically as he sings along.

Demetri didn't hang up immediately, just listened to Candy singing, albeit with his phone a mile away from his ear lest he be deafened.

The sound is surprisingly pleasant , the Spanish rolling off his tongue like it's all he knows how to speak , which would make sense , since Demetri can remember Candy vaguely mentioning how half his family is from Cuba . The words flow energetically , Candy's voice having an amazing amount of range for someone a good bit past the bad side of puberty , serenading Demetri through the phone , and no doubt putting far more effort into the quality now that his crush is listening.

Demetri listened in silence, the music soothing his otherwise frazzled nerves. He didn't strike Candy as the type to sing at all, and his fingers itched to play along with the music. "Candy?" He said, once said fey hado quietened slightly.

"Yeah?" He replies as he continues humming the tune along.

"Do you want to do something?" His words came out in a rush of breath, tangled up like headphone wires. It wasn't often when DemetrI was seen to be nervous, but he was a mess now. Somehow Candy had devolved him into a hot mess.

Now Candy isn't usually one to play with people but when someone just is asking for it well , Candy isn't one to refuse. A smug confident grin shines out as he replies (whilst cutting some celery) "Well I don't have much time today cabron, places to go people to see songs to sing guitars to play , so what were you thinking of"

"Uh.." He began, his flow interrupted. Not that he really had one in the first place. "Anything."

"No no no mi amor you must try harder than that" Candy tuts , purposefully exaggerating his accent for the hot factor.

"I've never done this before," He said in his defence.

"And I've only done it once, so man up and figure something out" He replies as he slides the chopped celery of the board , still dancing energetically to the song.

"And that went well for you I hear," He snapped after Candy's blow to his manhood.

"Oh so you do have a pair huh? Muy bien we'll need those eventually " He replies with a disarming laugh , though pain stings in his chest over that.

Demetri continued to fizzle and he replied with a harrumph.
