A cursed week

"Good" James said and began the memory spell that he would use to make samuel forget the magic he had learned, or even that magic existed, he expected samuel would try to attack or reflect the spell and was ready for that. He could pretty easily find the right spell later with some ease.

Samual ndeed did try, by forming a spell that would blast the two across the room.

James blocked this with a magic sheild as he kept reading

Samuel then cast a spell to destroy his shield.

James blasted Sam's wand out of his hand with a magic bolt while he was focused on that knowing that sam lacked the experience to cast magic without a wand

"Ow," He saId, as his wand went flying from his hand.

and them James erased the last 15 years of Sam's life from his mind, regressing him to mentally an infant in terms of knowledge.

Welp Samuel  had no idea where he was. He did not, tragically, remember if he had killed Esther now. How sad.

This didn't even occur to james "Put a sleep spell on him and let's book it" he suggested to vicky

"What the hell did you just do you dumbass!" She yells back as she watches the spell "Now we won't know if he killed Esther or not!" She hisses as she grabs him by the collar.

"I just disabled a dangerous potentially murderous witch" James said pushing her hand away "It'll be fine"

"You also burdened his parents with the equivalent of a vegetable ! And we didn't even get any information about it" She replies "He's a kid! It wasn't supposed to go like this!"

"He'll be fine given a decade or so." James assures her. "Besides most psychologists theorize it's early life trama that makes on a sociopathe, think of it as I gave him a second chance to not be so shit, and now we can cure all those people"

"James...I'm being serious..you didn't need to do that" She replies much quieter , her eyes concerned for her little bro , as that was a strangely ruthless move "Is this ...is this because of what happened to Candy?" She asks .

(Yep because he knows what spell he used. James wasnt too smart about this was he)

James shrugged at that looking away "A little, but mostly... look we know evil witches most of our family are like that, and do you think there was any way this guy would let this go, or would he come after us? even now he could figure it out again in a decade or so, but killing him seemed wrong, this seemed like a good balance of covering our asses, and who knows, if he is raised right he may come out a better person in the end... just seemed better than ending him or risking him doing something like that to us, because as we've seen he will not hessitate"

"James , he'll be in an asylum for the rest of his life" She replies "He'll be thirty by the time he could even have a chance of living on his own....don't do it again"

"Nah They'll probably assume he had a stroke or something, put him in a rehap program for that" James still saw it as a net good, especially if dam grows up to be ya know not evil, the sherif would probably make samuel go missing but now no one had to, plus sammy couldn't like vow revenge now, and that was a possitive in his book

"James...don't.do.it.again" She reiterates and with that walks off.

Sam had been just sort of sitting on the floor and staring at the two in the blank way babies do.

"Why would I do it again?" James asked following her with the book

"Why would you wipe someone's entire memory in the first place? You could've just wiped a year , or just the memories of being bullied" She replies.

"Well sis we've seen that he is ambitious and intelligent enough to go out and learn witchcraft so he can have power over others, you take a year off his life, you just delay it for a year, and if we erase the memories of being bullied, he goes to school tommorrow and gets bullied again, and he may still go out and learn magic to have power over others" James explained

"But you never gave it a chance , instead you just literally ruined his life" She replies flatly.

"Oh no I ruined the life of a dangerous sociopath who put my friend in a coma, and posed a serious threat to the community; what a terrible person I am" James declared as they walked out of the house and into the night
