"Ship fulls, Elysia is a wealthy worlds, it's where we're all from, but it attracts eldar corsairs and dark eldar slavers by the fleet. When I turned fourteen standard years I joined the planetary dense force, most PDF's don't see much action but ours is a bit of an exception." Of course an Eldar and even a human at fourteen would be undeveloped and wholly unprepared for war but the Elysian Planetary Defense Force took anyone crazy enough to engage the eldar and dark eldar in battle.

"Fourteen ?" She replies , her expression one of shock although her voice remains calm.

"Joined at fourteen, had a few months of training, and entered pitch battle against an eldar corsair fleet, not a week later" Gallus explained, he didn't understand why she was so shocked

Ysil turns away , her eyes on the horizon as she thinks this over {It seems the human maturation period is much shorter than I had originally though ,by fourteen standard years an elf child wouldn't even be out of the womb!} (That's right ,right?)

"Of course back then I was little more than a young one in the middle of puberty, not the, battle hardened, strong , tall, handsome, incredibly modest man you see before you today" He gave a kidding grin, as a taller eldar the ranger was like seven and a half feet tall, over a foot taller than him "By human standards of course..."

"I assumed as much , I believe there is a human joke that is centered around a taller individual asking a shorter individual how the weather is at the the shorter individual's level correct?"

"Oh where did you hear it?" Gallus wondered "and why are you less of a jerk than most of your people?"

"Bar, I didn't understand the joke at first but it seems to be an example of comedic hyperbole" She replies with a shrug "Oh? Why do you think they're mean?" She replies.

"Mean isn't the word, Arrogant, condescending, and disdainful are" Gallus answered and raised her eyebrow as she mention comedic hyperbole "Do your people have jokes?" he wondered

"Yes , they are very different from human and ork jokes though , I'm not sure you'd find them funny" She replies "On the subject of the attitude of my people to yours , it's more resentment then anything , seeing your kind take over the galaxy we once rules and do it in such a frankly brutal fashion causes great sorrow and anger in the hearts of my people"

"Oh come on, we're like... the second or third least brutal civilization out there" The Elysian said with a shrug "Which is kinda sad now i think about it, nothing like a joke to lighten the mood though, give it a shot Ranger"

"You would not get it human" She replies bluntly.

"Try me" Gallus said with a yawn, he was bored and it was a challenge now

Ysil shrugs and proceeds to say some shit he couldn't possibly understand "It doesn't translate well into your High Gothic"

"It really doesn't" Gallus said nodding in affirmative, he liked talking to the eldar she was pleasant

"I believe the easiest way to explain it is to liken it to something a human would know , I suppose it would be similar to an ancient human form of joke known as the 'pun' " She explains.

"Well those are always rather... punny..." Gallus punned, he didn't know from who or where but he expected a whack upside the head for the phenomenally shity pun.

"Hamid a moment" Primus called Hamid over

Hail simply shakes her head , an expression of disappointment on her sharp and slender features.

"Sorry i meant Marius" Primus corrected himself

Gallus casually turned back to the road ahead with a small smile

"Your puns are much worse than ours" She observes .

Marius raises a brow and jogs over with a sloppy salute "Yes sir?"

An elder cloak over light battle armor.

"I see you're wearing eldar armor; I prefer human materials myself, but i'm sure you wouldn't be suede" Gallus honestly enjoyed  puns and didn't understand why people dislike them so much they were like a piece of comedic candy, quickly digested but enjoyable.

"I hear you've been riling up the tech priest" Primus said to Marius

Marius sighs , running a hand through his long red hair "I wasn't trying to , apparently I offended her beliefs "

The elder rolls her eyes , but there is a small smirk on her lips.

"You understand she's completely indispensable?" Primus asked the engineer, not caring about his reasons "She's been keeping our ship operational these passed years, we cannot afford to  have you rile her up, regardless of her imaginary friends she's the best technician we have by far."
