Backcountry hike

After the scuffle at the mysterious palace that will certainly never return to bite them in the ass, the group fled the area through the back county instead of the roads, with Valstad's magic covering their tracks they should be safe for the time anyway... well as safe as anyone was in the dangerous, and unexplored back country of the kingdom, with only a cursory idea of where they were going. Shame they had to leave the villagers to die, but they were in way over their heads back there, even  Valstad. The back country was wooded and mountainous, not the easiest place to traverse but far easier than the baron lands of thanatos

"This sucks " Ephraim states.

"Do you do anything but complain and be useless?" Valstad asked clearly in a bad mood himself but a more apathetic one

"Do you do anything other than be an utter dick?" Ephraim replies sharply .

"Save peoples asses apparently" Valstad replied not missing a beat

"I mean I get that you're upset over whatever you're upset about but it doesn't give you the excuse to be a giant bitch about everything , I mean it makes no sense really , all that magic skill and yet you still haven't found a way to remove that stick from your ass" Ephraim continues calmly .

"Maybe i will when you find out how to shut up" Val snorted as they made their way up a steep but verdant path in a mountain side

"You know all I said was that the situation we're in sucked ,because we had to leave a bunch of innocent people ,and somehow that ballooned into this" Ephraem replies .
(Bandits?)

"You guys," Cerise chastised.  "Cut it out. Fighting between ourselves won't solve anything."

"Do you like magic tricks?" Valstad suddenly asked cerise, a question you can't really imagine him asking

Cerise grinned. Her people were masterful at magic tricks, even without the use of proper magic. "Of course."

"How about it teach you how to make a useless asshole disappear?" He said shooting a glare at ephraim

Cerise slapped him on the arm gently. "I need you both, I can't have you killing each other on me now."

Valstad crossed his arms but would defer to cerise on this

"You know suicide is the cowards way out" Ephraim replies with a smile
