The Apex Predator

"I'm more of a stress baker," she replied. She wouldn't go out specifically to eat something, she preferred the hands on creation. "Yeah... I wasn't so keen on being enslaved either.." she murmured.

Chris nods "Yeah, never trusting that angel girl again, funny thing was she had saved my life only two days before then " He says frowning a bit as he looks to her, he wants to say something, to comfort her, or maybe give her a hug...but something's different. He feels like there's this little inch thick wall between them that he can't cross or he'll ruin everything.

"Looks like we can only rely on each other, eh," she grinned, nudging him with a foot.

"Stop it" He replies in a fake pout as he pushes her foot away "Yeah it seems so right?"

She pulled her foot away, expression going more serious, as she said something that had been worrying her for a while. "Hey, you kinda went a little... " What was the word? Unresponsive? Unemotional? "Not yourself."

He raises a brow "Huh, when?" He replies crossing his arms as his expression turns to one of worry "When we were kidnapped?"

"Yeah..." She nodded, tucking her legs beneath herself as she took another slice of pizza.

He nods as he continues to eat " So uhh, I say anything? Do anything strange?" He asks a slight frown forming.

"Ah, no, you were just... strange." She said hesitantly. Or maybe she was making it up. Who really knows?

"I mean yeah, I felt different, everything got real cold out of nowhere like my blood had turned cold, and someone started talking, I dunno who ...voice sounded a lot like me though"He states rubbing his chin as he thinks back to it.

"Huh..." She frowned. It seemed to happen in times of great stress. Maybe it was some sort of defense mechanism. Honestly, she had no idea. "So, that wasn't really.. you?"

"Full disclosure I don't really know, it started after we were getting our asses handed to us by those two dickweeds " He replies "Than I remember us being taken to a theater and Matt leaving"

"So you don't remember anything while, what, this thing is talking?" She asked concerned. "Maybe you have some sort of multiple personality thing?"

"Ummnn, I'd like to think not, since I'm supposed to be the sane one out of our little group" He replies half joking as he raises a brow.

"Hey!" She said, nudging him in the side with her foot. "I'm not crazy."

He grins coyly "Yeah keep telling yourself that sweetums " He replies smugly as he goes to get a bottle of water,

"How am I crazy?" She demanded, with both a mixture of amusement and a hint of offense.

"It's not an insult hon, I love your particular brand of crazy " He replies smiling warmly as he takes an ice cold bottle of water from his freezer.

She stuck her tongue out at him in retaliation.

Chris tries to ignore how utterly adorable that looks and formulate a snarky response but just can't.

"Why do we always get off topic," She murmured, though couldn't help the smile. "So, ah, have you talked to like a professional about the second you?"

"Nope, therapy is so expensive and I don't feel like spending a thousand bucks or so to talk to some stranger about my feelings" He replies rolling his eyes.

"I meant like someone who knows something about multiple personalities, so then you can at least get a little closer to whatever it is."

His mouth forms a little 'O' but he shakes his head "I wouldn't know where to find someone like that"

She shrugged. "Google?"
