Stopping a Catastrophe

Khem listened to the story, the whole thing sounded stupid but he bites. "Okay sure... I guess I will then come with my tools there, so I assume you want me to open the gate to Hell big enough for her to fit through? I can manage that... For your safety I hope this isn't just some kind of trick, but I will see you there, was there anything else or can I now return to reading my book?" Khem asked sounding a bit bothered by this, but at least he agreed to come due to the danger a Mother Demon poses.

"Yes uh one more thing, is there a way i could purchase a hell gate crystal from you?" Matthew asked him

Khem looked at Matthew, he then answered. "Well yes... Don't know why you would need one or even want to visit Hell but that is your concern... 1,000$ and it is yours, it isn't easy to make these." Khem named the price and waited for an answer.

Matthew takes out a thousand on the spot and hands it to him, "Thank you. Last question do you know of anyone who sells magical trinkets in your guild?"

(i take it he was paid for the raid and with his promotion?)

(Yes, yes he was.)

Khem takes the money, does a quick count and leaves to get the crystal. He soon comes back and hands a red oval shaped crystal that fitted nicely on Matthew's palm, Khem then replies. "Magical trinkets? Like enchanted stuff and the sort? We do have a shop in the lodge, that is where I buy my summoning equipment and other things... But to get the more powerful items you may want to talk with a professional enchanter, is that what you were looking for?" Khem asked as he leaned on the doorway.

"Cool, it doesn't need to be powerful" Matthew knew in all but very rare cases demon magic was non existent so he figured a gift that was enchanted would really be special to the demon mother. "I just need like a demon mother sized bracelet with a neat enchantment on it"

Khem shrugged and spoke. "Well if so, then I might as well do it... Every mage knows at least a little bit of enchanting, either that or their teachers did no good job. I have a few choices as the base material, leather, silver or gold. Then do you want some gems on it and how many? Then I will enchant it with something nice, it will be ready tomorrow morning." Khem suggested and waited for an answer.

"I'd like silver, I'd like a sapphire , ruby, and an emerald, will twenty thousand cover it?" Matthew asked the mage

Khem nodded writing that all down and answered. "Then it is a deal, come at 9:00 in the morning and I will hand it to you. So, are we done for now? Since I do have things to tend to." Khem said and waited for an answer.

Acheron was there listening and observing the transaction between the two.

Mystogan arrives out of nowhere "I can do it" He suggests casually, as though he didn't just appear out of nothingness.

Matthew was already handing khem the money, and it'sd be rude to go back now "thank you for the offer but i'm already paying him" see you later khem he aid signifying he can go do his thing

Khem just stared at Mystogan, the guy was a joke. "First of all, what are you doing in my property, second are you really trying to foil my business deals?" He asked him raising an eyebrow.

Acheron just shrugged and was ready to go back to the inn.

Matthew waved at them and left after he paid khem "So let's start on these demon language lessons he said to Acheron"

"Yes, because I don't like you and two Moura said I can stay here and you have to listen to her" Mystogan replies snidely .

Khem shook his head and spoke. "Fine you goddamn parasite... But I got work to do, so I hope you shut up and let me do my thing." Khem walked inside his manor again to get started on this project.

Acheron followed Matthew and he replied to Matthew. "Sure, at my place or your place?" He asked him and prepared for another sequence of teleportation from Matthew.

"Your place" Matthew said and teleported them to said room

"I was gonna try and help since I'm a better enchanter but obviously that's a no no"

Khem only rolled his eyes as he went to work on it.

Khem had done the bracelet, it was placed in a red box resembling a chest on the table. It had an shield enchantment on it that the wearer could activate in case they get attacked.

The next morning Matthew was a bit early, he had brought acheron with him since he only knew a few words, and phrases in demon, he hoped to pick up the gift as khem was headed for the ruins, so he was just outside

Khem opened the doro and noticed Matthew accompanied by Acheron again, Khem then spoke. "I guess you came to fetch the order, well then..." Khem handed Matthew the red chest like box.

Matthew accepted the box "Yes sir, are you still working on the crystal?" he asked
