The White Pearl Order's Training

It was time for training lessons for new recruits in the White Pearl Order, the new recruits were mostly just Earthborn angels taken under the wing of Heavenborn angels trying to keep themselves in power instead of a certain Demon Lord. Matthew was part of the training group, so if he wanted he could attend.

Matthew of course did attend the training session. The young man was skilled with guns and hand to hand combat, but didn't know much about fighting with melee weapons, and as his seemed prevalent among the angels he certainly wanted to learn. Sword play interested him in particular.

They were in the courtyard of the mansion, it was the best place to train for now. Their instructors came out of the mansion to give them their lessons, a male angel wearing heavy armor approached Matthew and spoke. "You are my pupil today Matthew, I got the reports that say you want to learn sword fighting. So, I hope you have your chosen weapon with you." He said and waited for Matthew to answer while the others had their instructors talk to them.

"I always have my weapons with me sir" Matthew answered as he summoned a long sword to his hand. The weapon was a straight bladed longsword that could be wielded with two hands, or only one, it bore a cruciform design.

The angel nodded, he then spoke more. "Very well then, my name is Bethor and I will teach you how to wield that weapon. Let me show you how to get started..." Bethor materialized a straight sword to his hands and continued. "You hold it like this... Keep your feet in this position... Eyes front... Then you swing it like this..." He showed Matthew the basics, Matthew could try a few swings on a training dummy.

Matthew followed instruction and began to  practice, he seemed nothing special. This basic technique was static; while his skill laid in dynamic fighting

Bethor watched as Matthew trained, getting all the basics correctly so it was time for another lesson. "Well done, now we try something different. I will be your opponent so you will get the hang of a real sword fight." Bethor held his sword and waited for Matthew to strike.

Matthew chose to use a tentative testing swing instead of attacking the more experienced angel outright.

Bethor blocked the swing and did an amazingly speedy swing to attempt breaking Matthew's blade.

Matthew leapt back out of reach

Bethor jumped to the sky and fly at Matthew with his wings, trying at another attempt to swing his own blade to break his.

Matthew attempted to block Bethor's strike he had no idea the angel was trying to break his blade, the thought never occurred to him.

As Matthew tried to block his strike, Betor easily cut Matthew's blade in half. He then landed down and waited for Matthew to realize what had just happened.

Matthew nearly instantly materialized a new blade, not giving his opponent time to capitalize on his lost blad Matthew began striking at Belthor.

Bethor was impressed as he stepped back and used his own blade to block Matthew's sword swings, this kid was fast in his thoughts or was he expecting that?

Matthew was trained from in hand to hand combat to react quickly, he continued his assault trying to push Bethor back.

Bethor tried to keep up but this kid was pretty good already, Bethor had no choice but to keep slowly retreating as he blocked Matthew's swings having no openings to strike back.

Matthew kept swinging the blade with unrefined technique

Bethor kept blocking, he then did a powerful swing to try and disarm Matthew.

Matthew was disarmed once more and this time formed a taser in his hand knowing his opponent would expect a sword and fire it at the angel.

Bethor was indeed expecting another sword so the taser was a complete surprise, Matthew's attack hits him giving him a shock and forcing him on one knee.

Once his opponent was on a knee Matthew formed another sword with the tip at Bethor's throat. "So how's i do?" Matthew asked.

Bethor chuckled a bit and stood up as he spoke. "If i may say, truly impressive, you are first of my pupils to learn such interesting ways to fight. I think you have earned a break my friend, how about we grab a snack in the dining hall eh?" Bethor suggested with a smile as he made his armor disappear.

"Just takes  a little creativity is all" Matthew said with a smile letting his sword disappear "Sure i'd be happy to"

Bethor lead Matthew into their large dining hall filled with tables that were filled with different kinds of food for the picking, there were other angels here and there enjoying the luxury. Bethor took a plate and started piling some food in it, he then would sit down to enjoy it.
