Hitting the town

There was a reason Linnea never wore the same clothes twice, and that was she was never out of the shops. She was, by a longshot, most of the clothing retailer's best customer. Today, her hair was tied into space buns, and she wore a loose fit crimson crop top. It was, however, an exhausting process buying so much items for herself, forcing her to take a break at the park. She enjoyed it there, staring out at the lake; the world seemed to freeze here. Three ducks had made themselves comfortable beside her on the bench, while the remaining were at her feet. She seemed to be talking to them, sketchbook in hand.

"It's a beautiful afternoon ain't it?" A familiar voice remarked as Mutt leaned on the bench with his arms , watching the ducks go about with a smile , there were few things Mutt liked more than cute critters , and the ducks qualified.

"If you don't keep still I will fry you with-" her chastising of the duck was cut off suddenly by Mutt's sudden appearance, causing her to snap the sketchbook shut and shoo away all the ducks. "Oh! Didn't know you were there"

"Nooo...the ducks." He sighed as he watched them swim away.

"You gotta thing for ducks or something?" She asked, glancing at him.

"Just like animals...that's a nice drawing you got there," He commented with a smile , pointing her sketch of the ducks.

She quickly shut it; she seemed almost embarrassed at his having caught her drawing ducks.

"What's wrong ? Oh oh lemme guess , drawing cute little ducks breaks your 'mysterious and seductive' image doesn't it?" He remarked with a chuckle as he hopped over the bench and plopped his butt down next to her "I'd say I forgot my manners but....at this point i don't think I remember ever having them , anyway I'm Mutt."

"Linnea," She replied, very obviously looking him up and down. "I take it you already know me."

"Seen you before yeah." He replied with a nod "Gotta be honest didn't expect to see you out here , normally you fey are all secretive and mysterious." He whispered jokingly.

"Oh we are" she said, nodding seriously. "I just like keeping you on tyour toes. You'll never know where you see me next."

"Perhaps sampling cupcakes or teaching baby giraffes to play the flute."

She just grinned. "Well I can't spoil it for you, can I? You'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps you may see me somewhere more... private." She prefaced her last word with a wink.

A copper brow raised at that comment "Yeah...maybe." He replied as his eyes turned to her notebook "Can I try?..Drawing ducks I mean."

"I, uh," she began, her gaze casting downward at the sketchbook. She detested anyone touching it or looking through it, but... she didn't want to appear like she cared. "Sure!" She replied with forced nonchalance, and opened a page at the very back for him.

"Thanks ." He smiled as he picked up her pencil and turned his eyes to the ducks "Hmmn." He rubbed his chin dramatically as he watched the little duckies float on the waters surface. Then slowly ,eyes moving up and down from the paper to the water he began to sketch , hand moving ever so carefully as he tried to cast the image he saw onto the paper and add his own personall twist to it.

Linnea didn't watch his hand, but instead his face; there was always something fascinating about watching someone at work, seeing the intense concentration in their gaze, the strange expressions they pulled unconscously.

For a while the pair just sat their quietly as Mutt continued his work very intently , often going back and erasing some thing , scribbling in another , but eventually he finished. This was...weird to him on an instinctual level , sitting here on this bench in broad daylight drawing ducks on a bench. And though Mutt wasn't the type to deeply ponder on these sorts of things,he found the feeling kind of nice.

Linnea on the other hand had unabashedly been staring at him the entire time, a small smile on her face. It was clear to her he was not used to things like this, his entire demeanour and appearance seemed to almost reject the gentler side of life, but here he was, sitting in the park drawing ducks.

After a few last touches he handed the book over , moving some wild red curls from his eyes as he watched intently for a reaction..he'd never exactly had the time to go to any art classes so it was raw, the style sketchy angled in a way that made near every shape ,even the lake it's self full of harsh angles.

She took it, staring at it for a long while. She tilted her head slightly. "It's wild. Like you."

"It's supposed to be ducks but okay." He replied with a grin , faking stupidity.

"Eejit," she said,pushing him slightly in a friendly way.

He smirked pushing her back lightly "What , ducks aren't very wild."
