Something isn't right

"What...what was that?...he city magic?" One of the wounded asked , a younger teen still sitting in the mud , staring at his now healed hands. "My hands were set aflame...now..now they're fine."

"My people are known for our skill with a blade, and as craftsman, and for... and for going insane and smelling like a rotting corpse about seventy five percent of our unlives" He admited though not particularly proud of the last two "But perhaps our most practiced art is that of healing the flesh, or else we would all go mad and smell foul all of the time"

Hiding behind one of the nearby building's corner, peeked a young man with yellow eyes and short black hair holding a bow on his hand. Looking relieved, he goes out of view as he backs into the alley.

"Someone is watching us." Citra calmly informed her companion as she stood next to her wagon-house , waiting for him to come along as the villagers murmured their thanks. "Although do you think it best to investigate what was going on here?"

"I want to figure out why they thought there were witches here" Janik admitted but then nodded "I guess finding out who is watching us is more important though"

Whoever was looking at them, was going away merrily.

"I don't know from where , but my hunch is that area...I'll go ahead , you speak with these people." She stated firmly and with that dashed off , leaving no time for debate.

He waved at a random villager and approached smiling in a friendly manner, thouch it is hidden under his mask "Excuse me sir, do you know why those people thought you had a witch?" he wondered

The man almost hopped off his feet , still seeming uncomfortable despite murmuring many thanks to the mage "Well s-s-sir , there was a few folks who lived in that house , who practiced the old ways ....folk magic I reckon you city slickers would call it."

Meanwhile the young man that was sneaking around earlier was starting to leave the village, back into the woods where he belongs.

"My people don't live in cities for the most part" Janik gently explains "They are mainly asylums for the rotten and the insane, I spent most of the life I recall in a small manor by the Crags and rocks of the northern sea."

"That's nice ." The villager replied with a shrug.

 Meanwhile Citra was swiftly heading off in the area of the stranger.

"Anyway what does folk magic do?" HE wondered curiously

"Hum...quite a queer question dat is mate , em...folk magic's kinda ...little magic mostly by my reckonin' , enchantments , healing all dat." He explained in his country drawl.

"Healing like what I did?" Janik wondered tilting his head, it had to use blood all magic he knew was spirits of blood, and the spirits were some tough customers

"No , they simply find some ingredients , and speak the right words ah suppose , and I guess the spirits help 'em out" He replied as he rubbed his freckled nose.

"That's rather remarkable" The undead said but nodded "Well I wish them and all of you well, I should find my companion"

"Thank ya mr. magic man , do come back another day , hopefully on better tides eh?" He replied with a nod and a wave.

"Wait before I go... anyway I could purchase something to drink, my stock is low..." He explained, finding his friend was important... but so was spiced wine and mead

"Yes yes of course , some business would be good , need money to fix all this up." He replied "I run the inn so follow me" He replied and quickly headed for the tavern.

Janik followed, determined to pick up some drinks for the road "Can't imagine you get a lot of travelers this close to our border." He said making a bit of friendly conversation on the way

 Citra grinned as she moved one of Janik's swinging legs from her view "Must you sit atop the wagon at all times? There are cushions to sit on inside" She questioned with a warm laugh as she shook the reigns and the wagon began to tumble out of town.

"I need to see as much as I can" He said looking down at her with a bottle of wine and a bright grin, he had his silver death mask off for a while since they were free for a while and he wasn't expecting others "Best place for that is up here" he said as he watched the landscape roll by

"What you don't want to sit next to me I'm hurt." She replied with a teasing grin.

"Well when you put it like that there is one sight more beautiful than this lovely scenery" He said as he slid off the roof into the seat next to her slightly tipsily
