She nodded along politely, though was very evidently not paying attention.

"He was and is the best friend I have ever had , bar none , by the time of the story we'd known each other since we were seven , where I was impulsive and rash he always had a plan , always covering for my mistakes , always silently paying the price for my idiocy"

She nodded and grabbed her monkey again.

"We were alone , far from ze palace in le capitol's garden labyrinth , fencing , because we were young , and stupid , and we believed we were much to important , much too highborn , too special , to ever be hurt....Adolphus was a great fencer when were young , on occasion he would ever handily defeat our teacher , he had me on Ze ropes , I had small cuts all along my hands . Zen with this handsome devilish smirk he glanced me right under my eye.I got angry, once again I was an impulsive boy , and as he taunted me I took a stab at him .I was sure he would block , he always did , he was strong and dashing and  smart and I thought at ze time he would be destined to be a great knight. He let out this hollow wail , this heart wrenching gasp , as ze sword pierced right through him"

"That was stupid," she murmured.

Franky nods with a hollow smirk "You're not wrong madame  , it was very stupid of me , and it cost him very much...he did not die, for a time right after I had believed he was dying ,I have no shame in admitting that I cried , and wailed all the way through ze palace garden's as I held him , for he had grown cold and the only words I could speak were ones begging him to keep his eyes open as I put pressure on ze wound."

"That sounds hard," She said.

Rook finally stired

Somewhere along the way Curaca had vanished

"It was. I said some zings to him zat embarrass me to zis day , he doesn't let me forget zat is most certain eh?" He replies with a nod and a rueful smile "I don't even remember all of it , yet somehow he does , even though he was growing paler by ze second when I finally got to the palace"

She nodded slowly.

"H-he...cannot walk...not anymore , ze blow , it cut straight through him , hit no vital organs, hit no major veins , no only hit a damned nerve in his lower back , can you understand how....painful that is? To 'ave your destiny laid low by one you care for one you called your greatest friend .....I wonder how he can even stand to look at me "

Rook sat up and looked around

Rin lay beside him.

Elian just sort of looked in his direction.

"Where is here?" rook asked looking around

"Don't know , don't care , it's made of wood though , so shouldn't be too difficult for someone of your skills no?" He replies as he confidently pats Rook on the back.

Rin started rousing from her sleep, made clear as she was mumbling an insult at Rook who she is currently blaming for her headache.

"I.... ok" he tries to make a gyph of force to blast open their cage

The sturdy beams buckle a bit , some of the thatch of the roof slowly floating down , but it doesn't break , not yet.

The sound made her jump fully awake and she cast a glare at Rook. "Could you be any louder."

"Do you want me to be?" rook asked suddenly having a better idea, but it might be too late now, they really shouldn't ask him to think fast when he is just waking up

"No. That was a joke," She shook her head in exasperation at Franky.

"What ze hell did I do?! Are you zat tired zat you for a moment confused your boyfriend for someone handsome?" Franky quips.

(no what i meant is she looks at franky as if saying "isn't he an idiot")

Rook began a summoning glyph ignoring her and asked "where is the gryphon?"
