Continuing warhammer 40k on this sight for convenience

"I thought you signed up because we were fleeing an exterminatus order?" Gallus asked the sniper "The imperium was going to trip a system bare of life with us in it" he explained to the Eldar

"Ah I see....Your empire doesn't care much about it's citizens does it?" She replies with a slight frown .

"Greater Good in their eyes"

"Sounds terrible to me" She replies , she can barely imagine it , coming from a slowly dying race with slow maturity cycles , every elder was guarded closely like a treasure by their leaders.

Gallus suddenly put on his most inspirational face "Look the job of a guardsmen may be tough, and thankless, but if you dig in your heels and stand firm enough maybe, just maybe... You'll survive long enough, soaked in the blood of your fallen friends and enemies... for the space marines to show up and take all the credit." He chuckled

"I stick with my earlier assessment human , it sounds awful" She smirks slightly , amused by the Hunan's words.

"I take it it's different for the eldar?" Gallus asked her curiously

"Indeed" she replies .

"Sounds nice, If you want to hear some real horror stories about the imperium talk to decius, or Primus." Gallus said casually, Psykers see the worst of it

"I don't ,from what little you described it sounds awful" She replies with a small smirk.

"Isn't half bad for a sniper...I mostly got to stay out of trouble only the main issues I have are being overwhelmed and exteriminadus orders"

"Don't suppose you feel the overwhelming urge to share your experience with eldar society? " Gallus asked her

" No ,not really" She replies calmly.

"Open book aren't you ranger?" Gallus asked with a slight smirk

"I'm guessing this is an example of your human sarcasm" She replies with a smirk.

"I cannot fault your powers of observation." Gallus met her smirk with his own

As they chatted ships arrived from the warp cutter transporting troops vehicles and supplies to what would be their base of operations for the foreseeable. Decius was on one of the first ships down, his first goal was to make sure they had a secure base of operations, his second  was to make sure they had the supplies needed to survive. He knew there were human villages in the area under the heel of the chaos cults, mostly farmers and miners treated brutally by their  cultists overlords, his intention was to deal with these primitive cultists and come to terms with their brutalized subjects to provide them crops and materials instead, basically a more legitimate protection racket. that would ensure they didn't need to rely entirely on ship to ship piracy. After a chat with primus, primus ordered his squad and a few others to assemble. "Into the breach once more lads and lass'." Gallus said grinning as he headed for primus and decius who were standing at the compound's gate.

Ysil gathers with the others silently , prepared for the next fight .

Soon they ave assembled flanked by four sentinels and the two tauros vehicles from earlier. Decius gave a brief run down of what was going to happen "Piracy has provided a lot of our essential supplies, but we need a reliable source of food if we're going to stay alive. The villages in this area are agricultural, and the land is fertile, but the people are under the heel of a chaos cult to whom they provide food, sacrifices, and raw materials. We will be slaughtering the cultists, and forcing them to send us food and raw materials, no sacrifices though so it's a good deal for everyone. Any objections?"

No one complains.

The force assembled was about 400 with supporting light armor and led by Decius himself, an oppressively powerful and battle hardened psyker, on a planet like this where auto guns were high tech, victory would be all but assured... if not for the possibility of demons. Either way they'd be walking for the rest of the day and they'd need to make camp later.

Marius has spent most of this walk grumbling about walking

Gallus seems to enjoy the walk, and nature and shit "This place reminds me of Elysia, but with more orks and chaos cults... less Eldar corsairs though" he said to anyone who would listen

"Hmmn , well you have one in your company , so I'm assuming there were several at the place you're speaking of , am I correct human?" She asks with a smirk.
