Ephraim grabs his wallet and looks through it "gold coins , silver coins, copper coins, a locket, but sorry I'm all out of fucks to give"

"I have plenty of fucks as your mother would attest" Valstad shot back at him

"Is this how people always act?" The stranger asked Cerise in a whisper

"Oh you mean my dead mother?" He replies brow raised, as the man has just outed himself as a necrophiliac .

"From what I have seen, the only people who act this way either hate each other, or are suppressing feelings for each other," Cerise replied to the stranger, looking to the two others.

Ephraim just raises a brow at that then turns back to continue berating Val "I wonder if your such a dick because you're trying to compensate for the fact you don't have one"

"Better to be short a dick, than short a brain like you, very original by the way" Valstad calmly replied

The stranger watched with interest

"I also like how you say I'm unoriginal but use 'your mom' jokes " Ephraim replies smirking.

"You know i could kill you right?" Valstad asked him

"Could you?" He replies .

Cerise rolled her eyes, growing fed up with this. She stepped in between them to prevent them to swapping blows, if it were to come to that. "You guys, I need you as body guards, you can't do this if you are going to just kill each other," she said, looking between the two.

Valstad looked tight passed Cerise "Yes" he said in an emotionless tone, then looked at his boss, and said "Fair enough"

Ephraim shrugs and turns back to Cerise "So we're keeping the new guy?"

"We can't just leave him with no memories," Cerise replied firmly.

He nods "We should probably get back on track now"

"Ok do what are we up to?" The stranger asked tilting his head

"We're travelling to the capital of this country to face off against an assassin's guild which has put a hit on this kind lady's head" Ephraim explain.

"They want to hit her? I'll lend my help then" He said though he did not fully understand

Ephraim frowns deeply "Are you sure we have to keep him?"

"Don't be mean," she chastised Valstad. The journey would be miserable if they were at each other's throats all the time.

Valstad grunted, the whole journey would be miserable if ephraim was going to complain the whole way
