No Man's Land

Dan and Maria crash on the couch for now.

"Do we have a hammer, nials?" Micheal asked kung fu lady whose name he did not know

"Yerp," She responded, heading back inside to retrieve them.

Micheal waited for her to return

She returned wielding two hammers and a box of nails. "You can start on the front, I'll do the back." She said, chucking him a hammer and some nails, before getting started.

Micheal got to work, ruining the two slacker's chances of getting any good sleep

Dan and Maria are already knocked out on the couch and don't seem to be waking up.

Two days later

Thump , Thump ,Thump, Dan's hammer slams onto a nail slowly but surely fixing these boards to one of the back porch window's as Maria watches his back with her auto revolver. As he thumps away at the board he does not feel the light rumble underneath his feet, and the sound of something massive rolling around on the street in front of the house. His mind is too focused on his work as the house is almost fully secure , the only way they could make this sumbitch tougher is cover the windows in Kevlar sheet or replace the door with one of cast iron. As he finishes the last nail he sighs with relief and jogs back into the house to check with the others "I finished the last of the nails , hey...what's that sound?"

"Wish we could get to my place, it's like a guntopia. Total i've got over six thousand rounds." Michael said casually as he pulled out his 1911 at the strange noises. He had spent his time breaking down furniture for decent wood to secure the house, now with that done he  went to look out the less boarded up upstairs windows to see what was going on in the street.

A tank is rolling down the now mostly empty streets, the mass hysteria in these suburbs and the large massacres a few days past have culled the zombies down to a number where the group can move again.

Micheal returned down stairs after assessing the situation, and spoke to the others  "Okay it looks like things are as good as they'll get, so i think we should send some people out to get supplies, I think my place  would be good, i've got a lot of non perishable food, and an arsenal"

"I'll go " Dan volunteers quickly as he grabs up his M14 rifle and slings it over his back.

"Well it's my house so I better go." Micheal got his baseball bat for less noisy fighting, and his shotgun "We need at least one person who can handle a gun here, in case of looters"

"Ex U.S Army " He replies gruffly as he eyes the bank robber, there's something off about Michael. He can just feel it , something that isn't to be trusted, he just comes off as a bit to shady for Dan's liking.

"I'll stay, get to know Maria a bit more," Katrine perked up, flicking a handgun between her fingers.

"Sure why not right? I don't think we've talked that much while I've been here" She replies smiling warmly.

"Cool, cool, not sure why you brought it up, but that's good to know." Micheal said ignoring the suspicious look "I got my car outside we'll take it" He headed towards the normal looking car, but it's what's inside that counts, and that baby was a speed demon inside, he outran the cops in that baby many times.

"Oh, I misunderstood what you were saying I think" He replies chuckling as he runs up to the car and climbs in shotgun.

"Ok just a word of warning i've got a lot of cocaine at my place, obviously i don't use it or i'd be having withdraws by now, but it belongs to a friend, and we're leaving it there cool?" Micheal asked as he started driving towards the shady side of town
