"Oh..you mean this?" He replied as he promptly slashed the blade through the air and a small portal ringed by crackling blue light formed right before her .

Wide eyed, she stared at it in awe. "Oh my god!" then, with all the confidence and recklessness of a man driving, she stuck her hand through it.

 Only to feel a small set of fingers brush against her shoulder blade, Rene smiling all the while "Hey, if you're so interested in my amazing magical powers and all, you could become my sidekick!" He suggested jokingly with a chuckle.

She shivered when her own hands touched her back, and her head spun round so fast her hair briefly haloed her head. "Do you like fight villains?" She asked. "Is it fun? it sounds so fun."

"It ought to" He replied as he leaned the blade against his shoulder "I can't say I ever really get bored." The swordsman noted and casually transformed the blade back into it's pen form, quickly tucking it into his coat pocket. Turning to look back at her he smiled knowingly "So why do you ask?"

"why do you think?" she asked."Circus is the only thing I do and it's booooring"

His answer was almost incredulous "What do you mean it's boring? All those eyes staring on you?! The lights?! The magic?!....Oh...nevermind." Rene sighed and waved a hand dismissively "The answer is yes, it is incredibly exciting...terrifying too, I've almost died a number of times, but very exciting...much more than stealing I might add."

"Then yes," She said. "Teach me how to be badass."

"Gladly" Rene replied, forcing down the grin that wanted to appear ! He had a sidekick! That was like the trademark of a good hero right?! Suddenly his pocket buzzed to life, and he turned his attention to the flashing words that can across his phone screen. Then, blue eyes twinkling with mischief he turned back to the acrobat and declared "There's been a spree of armed robberies in downtown, some jackass running into nightclubs with pistols and nabbing partygoers jewelery ... Police radio says he's just hit one three blocks away. So mom apprenti....you ready for your first lesson?"
