Escape

She turned, and her face fell. She backed away from the fake smiley Daniel. "I want to go home," she said meekly, wrapping her arms around herself at a pathetic attempt at comfort. "I think I lost your light thing."

"It's alright... are you?" Daniel asked thinking about how bad an idea it had been to leave her alone so close to ghost town. He twisted the cap off one bottle and offer it to her. "Here this will help you calm down..." he said as he began leading once again.now through a more well lit area with actual humans walking around

"What is it?" She asked, wary to take it. "If it's like everything else I've seen it don't want it."

"It's a recreational drink you'll love it..." he promised as he opened his own soda and drank

She watched him carefully for any negative side effect like spontaneous combustion or such.

The drink was good ol' sugary soda pop, he did not explode and offered a reassuring smile to her.

She raised if to her lips and took a sip. It filled her mouth with such a strange bubbling and popping, she could only spit it out in surprise

"It's carbonation, perfectly safe, I've drank them all my life..." Daniel tried to assure her upon seeing her reaction

She made a second attempt and managed to swallow it this time.

Daniel waited in great anticipation for the verdict, while he did he chugged his own soda as they walked through now well lit streets with tall buildings in a much healthier state, and people doing people things with strange devices inside.

"It's... weird," She said eventually. "What are they doing?" She pointed completely without subtlty at the people inside.

"Oh they're watching tv... it's  like..." Daniel took a second to think of things she might know since he basically talking to someone from the past "having the memories of a bunch of plays stored in a box that you can watch any time." Daniel seemed much more casual and at ease as if the danger had passed despite the cars that stopped and drove on the nearby street, which he explained were not metal beasts but more like metal carriages controlled by the person inside.

"Oh..." She replied. She still was wary of the big loud metal beasts, and hid behind Daniel as a human shield when one drove past.

Eventually the pair made their way to the cheap motel in which flynt, and technically Daniel lived, and Daniel knocked on the door "Flyyyyynt I found a thing..." he called out

Flynt sighed as he made his way over to the door, he didn't know why but he had the distinct sense that whatever this thing was it'd be trouble.

When he did Daniel just stepped out of the way and pointed at the changed one Dia.

Shit, flynt nodded slowly as he looked over the changed "What does she want."

"To go home," she said, evidently nervous by the way she stood half behind Daniel.

"She seems to want to go back to the fae realm." Daniel shrugged, he clearly thought this was a terrible and rash decision, but didn't know how to talk her out of it, so he looked at his brother for help.

Flynt's eyes widened for a second, but only one, the next he was at her throat, silver blade pressed firmly against her neck as his pale eyes glared into hers "Who the hell are you?"

The sharp intake of breath she made, made barely a sound. She stared at him, eyes like saucers but she made no move to stop him other than a hand grasping his wrist. He could feel her strength but she did not hold it hard enough to hurt.

Noted "I'm gonna need you to answer my question...Who are you, and why the hell would you wanna go back? What did you forget what they do to our kind? Or are you some kind of traitor?"

"Hey easy man, back off she's confused and scared..." Daniel said, he was clearly thuroughly caught off guard by Flynt's actions, and quickly grabbed his brother's knife arm. As he tried to gently push the arm with the knife away from the young changed woman, he said to Flynt "Let's just calm down here... I don't know who or what you think she is, but she's being genuine..." while Daniel was speaking he tried to step in between the two so no one got stabbed.

She swallowed, taking her time before answering. When she did, she spoke with careful consideration. "This is why."

Flynt backed away gradually, a wary look in his eyes as he turned to look at Daniel "Alright....I trust you....But I'm not taking her back, it's too risky, if they get their hands on her she'll squeal."
