Rescue mission

"I would have thought someone such as yourself would be able to tell..." Matthew said and held it closer for him to have a look

"Give me that," He snapped, snatching it from him to get a better look.

When he touched the golden bar its form quickly shifted, before he could react the thing had wrapped around his his arm, a metal serpent not unlike a cobra... more specifically a cold Iron serpent now ad his hands bound together and its teeth centimeters from his face. "Tada..." Matthew said dryly

"Listen, feller," The wee man said slowly, fear glinting in his eyes. "Yer being serious? About the fairy queen still alive?"

"Yes and if you are looking for her i'll ask her to write you when we are done here, as a consolation for having to do this... however if you don't answer my question now that slithery boi there is going to inject liquid iron into your blood stream." Matthew told the wee man simply "If you hold back anything, I'll kill ya. If you bend the truth, or I think you're bending the truth, I'll kill ya. If you forget anything, I'll kill ya. In fact, you are going to have to work very hard to stay alive. Now do you understand everything I've said?"

He swallowed hard. "What is her name?" He asked. He needed proof, proof she is alive and proof he knows her.

"She goes by Una and runs a night club, now no more wasting my time. Do you understand what I have said to you?" Matthew asked his gaze cold, it's clear murdering the fae would be something he would not hessitate to do, though he'd admittedly rather not.

"Traditionally," He began. "When capturing a leprechaun... you are granted three wishes."

"My first wish is that you lead me to the captive huldra and associate of una Linnea." Matthew said without hesitation aside from thinking of how to phrase it.

"Right", he said, standing up and reaching his full and impressive height of three feet. "I heard tell a Huldra with a... Well. Yer gon' get us both killed."

"You just let me worry about that..." Matthew said calmly and motioned for the wee man to lead, and he would follow.

The man began walking in the direction he heard the rumour.

Matthew began following The wee man without many other options.

They walked for an unknown amount of time. The land stretched on forever. Very soon the sky faded to a purple hue and the grass rippled like the sea in a storm. "We will stop here to sleep."

Matthew nodded, and as he was not a total idiot began to draw a protective warding circle around where he was to be sleeping. Sleeping at all was dangerous and while if frustrated him to pause their journey, he knew that he had to be sharp when they found her. He had not been very talkative all day, distracted by his worry for Linn.

The leprechaun lay on his back, staring up at the stars. The galaxy swam and waned, far more visible and colourful than it is on earth. "You say she was a huldra?"

"Yeah, she works for una." Matthew said also looking up "I met her one night when I was particularly drunk and decided to slap her ass... and given she's a Huldra you probably know how that went."

"Uh huh." He didn't sound terribly interested. "And how long exactly has she been missing?"

"A week and a half..." Matthew replied "As best I can figure, we split up a while ago, and I had to here about the kidnapping second hand."

"Hate ta be the bearer o bad news kid, but she might be dead," He replied. "An frankly I ain't too fond of this plan if she is."

"If she's dead then I have even more work to do there..." Matthew said, he'd considered the possibility himself, and if she was he would make these fae wish that he would be so kind to them as they were to her.

"Are you aware huldra die if they don't fuck?" He asked bluntly.

"Yes." Matthew replied with a nod "I'm also aware that time runs differently in this this place..."

"Aye," he said with a humourless chuckle. "Ye get used to it."

"So that means she may still be alive..." Matthew concluded "And that's assuming she didn't seduce any guards. She's resourceful..."
