Rescue mission

Lin didn't know how long she had been there for. It had too long since she had been in the Otherworld, but she knew she was here without a doubt. Some believe time does not exist in this realm. They are wrong. It is simply non linear. Days repeat at random, one night can last months, the winter can last all year. Almost as if time itself is a living and breathing creature who finds pleasure in playing with the tricksters in its realm. The rough ground was cool beneath her cheek. She had long since given up on escaping. Given up on anyone coming after her. Hope had prevailed inside her initially, for she believed Mutt would have at least tried. Or maybe he had, she thought dimly. But he had been tempted or stolen on the way. Her hope fled when the cramps began. They came slowly, tentatively. Testing the waters, giving her a chance to ease them. But she could not. It had been a long time since she had felt them, for she vowed to keep up on her need to sleep with people, no matter what. The cost is too great. Fingernails tapping the stone ground, she stared at the far wall, eyes far away. In her mind, she was home, in the arms of someone. They changed faces; finally she landed on Matt.

Said Matt was at the doc some miles out from the city. He had recieved information on how to get to the fae realm by boat along with a map... and then he had gone out to get a book on how to read maps, and some supplies, and a boat... and a book on how boats work... yeah this was going to go well. While he was fully aware of how bad an idea this was, he had to save Linn, the Fae realm had been almost scientifically designed to exploit his weaknesses; so he was just  going to have to overcome. All he knew as he began to prepare the boat was that he was going to save Linn, no matter the cost.

"Matt." Her voice was soft, yet stern; he would recognise it immediately. Una had changed her mind about helping him, it seemed.

"Una?" He asked surprised upon looking up, he wondering if she had come to help him or smack him upside the head for giving his dad her number, maybe both.

He didn't have much time to react before she grabbed him by the throat. Her grip was like iron; his feet only brushed the ground.

Una swiftly felt a pistol loaded with Iron bullets press into her chest, Matt didn't want to start a fight here or with her, but he had to save Linn, and he didn't have time to die to some sexy fae queen.

"That is not necessary, Matt," She said, perfectly calmly. "I have no intention of killing you. I am however somewhat irritated because my identity has been revealed, to a powerful man no less."

Matt lowered his gun and gurgled something because he was still being choaked.

Almost as if she only just remembered he couldn't speak while she choked him, she set him back on the ground. "Do continue."

He took a moment to gasp for breath holding up a hand until he regained it at which point he spoke "I will stop at nothing to save linnea, and you knew that..."

"Indeed. I only realised recently how far you would actually go. Rather noble of you, considering what she is like towards men."

"Well... I love her" Matthew admitted, being hit by a wave of emotions as he said it out loud "I'm going to save her from whoever has taken her, and if that means I'm going to be burned by her some day... then so be it, she needs me and I can't fight this anymore. So don't get in my way Una."

A smile rose  to her face. "Excellent. She is one of our most valuable employees. I would hate to lose her." Her eyes cast down to his boat, a look of disdain crossing her expression. "And you intend to go... in that?"

"Well yeah, why?" Matthew asked already a bit defensive of his wee boat.

"Do you know the right direction?" She asked, growing increasingly amused and concerned.

"Yeah I have this map... and this book on how to read maps, I'll figure it out..." Matt assured her confidently

She blinked at him. A sigh. "No you won't.  I will take you there."

"You know how to sail?" he asked not knowing about the whole magic apple option and situation

"No, the Tuatha day Danann forgot how to sail after we burnt our boats in Eire," she replied simply. "Now, before I do I must warn you about the Otherworld."

"Why did you..." he began to wonder but then remembered he didn't have time "Never mind, what warnings?"

"Every fae written in every mythology in the world live there. Assume they are all malicious and trust no one. Remember they will try to exploit you in any way they can. And never ever tell anything your name."

"Wait Linnea already know my name though, is that bad?" Matt wonders why he shouldn't mention his name

"Do not worry about thay now. Just remember names have power. Now, I have contacted an old friend to guide you. Find Conchobhar. But be aware of his trickster nature."

"Well can I use his name to hold him to his word?" Matthew wondered trying to take all this in

"No. It must be his full name, including middle names. Even I do not know it."
