I think he'll make an effective villain though, because of how clear it is that he used to have humanity in him, in the way that he cared about kitana and even the other that was swallowed by his ambition and lust for power. at first he tries to convert his friends not wanting to kill them, but as he continues down this path the darkness in him grows larger it blots out all the light until only a monster remains
