Eventful Night

Aten was going around the outskirts of Chicago, he was going to visit the city itself today but sadly he got caught by 5 demons that were send to get him and punish him for escaping his duties. He was taken to an abandoned factory at the outskirts of the city and put into chains, ready for punishment until they would return to Hell. 4 of them were strong knight type, with the power to create armor around them and one was an assassin type with long skinny arms and legs wearing a cloak to cover rest of its spiky and poisonous body.

Unannounced to the demons their gathering was about to be interrupted. Velika had no orders from her master lately  aside from gathering followers for his army when he returned. It was a slow process, as she didn't want to risk loosing followers she had been going around, shadowed by a couple cult mages skilled in binding and sleep spells, then she'd target a supernatural and they would kidnap them for other mages of the cult to work memory altering spells on them to indoctrinate them. One of the demons she was shadowing had been abducted by five others and taken to a secluded location... jackpot. She set up three mages outside to begin binding and sleep spells before entering the factory  herself.

Aten was feeling miserable as he was caught, he did not like his duty in Hell and now he was going to be punished and dragged back there in chains to do his job. The assassin demon took some holy water from its pocket, that should do nicely in torture...

"Hello there gentlemen" The voice came from the entrance of the factory  as Velika walked in seeming rather cheerful as she interrupted the torture before it truly began

The demons turned to look at her, even Aten looked at her confused. The demon knights summoned their armor in case of trouble, the assassin one spoke. "This does not concern you... Leave..." He said and they waited for her to leave or else the knights get violent.

"Leave?" The nagaraja inquired as if she did not know what they were talking about "I've only come to welcome the newest members of the lich cult"

Aten was growing bored in the chains.

The assassin spoke, confused of her words. "What? You must be mistaken... We are in no cult..." He said unconcerned.

"Sure you are" She said as the mages outside cast their spells to bind them to her will "Bow" She ordered exerting this will

The demons were caught by surprise by the mages, and as Velika commanded them to bow they did and ready to serve her.

Aten was confused at what was happening, he was just kinda sitting on the ground tied with the chains.

As the mages walked inside Velika ordered "Take these ones for reprogramming" and they obeyed using the binding to force the demons to follow them out. When they did velika sat next to the bound demon "Well you're a cute one, i might just bring you to base like this" she motioned to the chains but was joking

Aten just looked at the scene laid before him, what was even happening? He knows these guys, they wouldn't abandon the leaders in Hell would they? As Velika came close Aten just looked at her and spoke. "Well you have a strange taste... These chains are actually uncomfortable... But... I am a bit concerned more now that you are here than I was with the torture they were going to give me..." Aten said and he truly was, he did not like this, maybe he should have just stayed in Hell...

Velika took out her silver rod and chuckled cutely when she saw his face "Don't worry i'm not that kinky" She assured him and used it to form a key of dark energy that would fit the locks on his chains and use it to open them "So you seem like quite the fish out of water" she said

Aten was happy to have the chains off of him, he would stand up and spoke. "Well, I am kinda skipping on my duties back in Hell, the others don't like it obviously since it is important work they say but I am not interested... So uh, I will take my leave... Thanks for the help, have a nice day and goodbye!" Aten said and started casually walking out.

"Well hold on there" Velika said following after him "You seem like someone who needs a place to stay, and protection from guys like them, how about you take a look at my organization, I hear they work people like dogs in hell, but we're pretty chill up here, why not check us out? Free lodging, lots of down time, the occasional mission or light duty to spice things up a bit."

Aten stops walking and answers. "Nah, thanks for the offer but I am not interested... I wanna be a free demon, do what I want... No work, no worries... So yeah, I'll see you around." He said and started casually walking away again.

Velika nodded and smiled, waving goodbye. She'd let him go for now then infiltrate his mind as he slept and make sure he came back as a willing member of the cult

Aten left, he was going down to the city now to see what it could offer. As long as he could avoid any more demons send after him he should be okay and just enjoy the freedom, he would go all over Chicago looking at things and learning from human society.

A silver haired demon happens to walk past Velika at this moment .

Meanwhile as Aten had enough adventuring today, he climbed on top of building and decided that it was a comfy place to rest at and sleep as the stars flashed above. Aten took a good look at the city and the cars down in the streets until he laid down to close his eyes...
