Ses was standing there holding his shield and spear, he was taking a defensive position.

Natalia had changed up her appearance again: her skin was now a warm chocolate tone, her hair fell in tight unruly curls around her shoulders, her eyes round and deep ebony, framed in glorious lashes, with full lips and a plump yet curvy body. She was freely chatting away to everyone, trying to get to know all of them. She looked curiously at the group coming towards them, hand hovering over the hilt of her sword should things get nasty.

Vaeri, on the other hand, didn't bother speaking to anyone. She just walked along, because let's be honest, she's pretty shit. Her hand reached for her sword as the enemy came into view, but she did nothing, merely watched on to see if they would do anything.

Farid had struck up a fun conversation with her halfway through they're march, he had asked why she could shape shift and she had asked him why his skin is of a salmon hue, he didn't really have a good answer for that one but luckily got interrupted by the sudden approach of an enemy group.

Baldric loosens his sword in its scabbard, eyeing the approaching men uneasily

Smoke straightens to his full height and snorts smoke from his nostrils, tightening a clawed hand around the shaft of his spear as he does so, he's been fairly talkative this entire journey but is eerily silent now

Allyn looks back over the unit and then dons an easy grin as he watches the strangers approach, though one hand subtly tightens around the crossbow he's cradling. He sends up a silent prayer to whatever gods that are listening that they can pass off the story he's been drilling into them each night when they camp

The strangers pull up even with the group, eight knights on horses, wearing fine plate worked to resemble the sigils on their chests. The leader, a tall man with a helmet in the shape of wolf's head, reins in in front of them. He removes his helm, revealing a handsome young man who looks down at the group with disdainful eyes, "Ten people on the road, armed to the teeth. I wonder who you all could be?" His smile is arrogant, yet his eyes are wary his hand never straying far from the ax hanging from his saddle

"Never seen a party of adventurers, Lad?" The Dwarf was the first to speak in a crafty manner as he stepped forward to speak for the group in his merry, and booming voice "We're headed north heard there was trouble with a troll king terrorizing the good people of the north with his trolls, and goblins, thought we might make some coin on its head." The dwarf spun a story from rumors he had heard

The knight's smile doesn't waver, and neither do his wary eyes, "are you now? Ten ways is quite the split for a bounty on one troll king isn't it?" His eyes turn to rest upon Vaeri, "and you're quite the bunch, even more variety than most adventuring parties. But where are my manners?" He bows in his saddle, "I am Lord Markus Crane"

"Good to meet you lad" Arnoth said, and explained "Well The rumor says he's the most powerful troll king since the mountian wars, I thought in the bloody says, against the Goblins, and trolls, let me tell you taking the task on with ten is fool hardy, but less would be suicide."

I don't think anyone is interested in doing so

Crane smiles nastily, "If it's so foolhardy then I'm sure you wouldn't mind accompanying us to Blackwood. The king's paying a premium for good sellswords right now, for a far easier task." His eyes flicked to Vaeri again, "your Fey should feel particularly at home. Hey queens there too, negotiating with the king"

Smoke tenses at mention of the Fey queen

Allyn glances at Hex and mouths something that looks like, keep it quiet then stealthily readies his crossbow

Farid crosses his arms and looks over to Arnoth with a 'you blew it' glare.

Arnoth was about to say something "Well you see the the thing about that is..." suddenly he thrust out his hand releasing the shockwave spell hie had been preparing, and blasting the knights and horses to the ground leaving them rattled, and unhorsed. That should give them a decisive edge

Allyn almost contemptuisly puts a crossbow bolt through the knee of Lord Crane, pinning him to the ground as the knight screams in pain. Then draws his sword and steps forward to engage the rest of the knights bellowing as he goes, "Leave the lord alive! Kill the rest."

Startled by the sudden turn Baldric takes a few heartbeats to realize what's going on and draw his sword, by which time Allyn is already dueling a stocky knight armed with a heavy mace and the rest of the knights are beginning to clamber to their feet. Still he manages to charge one and engage the warrior, sword meeting shield as the two begin to duel.

Smoke is much quicker, striding forward but then pausing to wait as one of the knights struggles to stand, being chivalrous and waiting for his opponent to be ready

(ps  kilo wants her corporal to die)

Hexor struck the knight smoke intended to  fight honorably with a ball of banefire to the face, laughing as the man's face goes up in flames 

Kine is able to hit another knight through a shoulder gap in his armor  with an arrow.

Arnoth charged the nearest knight like a wrecking ball knocking him to the ground , and putting an axe in his chest

Farid decides to just sit back and watch the show.

Baldric is barely holding his own against his foe, the woman he's fighting is obviously far better trained and more experienced than him, only natural skill and his far greater strength and speed have kept him alive this long

Smoke spares Hex an annoyed glance and steps forward, skewering the knight that kine put an arrow through with his spear. The dragonborn easily dodging the blood that geysers from the man's mouth as he does so

Allyn is handily beating his foe, and ends the fight with a sword thrust to the man's knee, followed by a quick slash across the knight's neck to finish him.

(Wait for Kilo so she can kill of her Fey?)

(yeah, dibs on kine shooting the woman , baldric is having trouble with)

(Because she's pretty shit and I hate her.)

Natalia joined in on the fight, holding off a soldier with decent enough, but not expert, sword play.
