The staff of Edathum

"Now there's a chance we may run into the undead. If the staff indeed retains its former master's essence, it may have drawn the spirits of anyone who died nearby to use as a guardian, or more likely guardians, but my magic is well suited to deal with such thing. So if you see any undead... stay close in case i need a meat shield" He smiled to show he was joking, and not at all serious.

She flicked him in the back of the head anyway, and rolled her eyes. "Don't worry, hun, I got your back." She said, leaning forward to give him a cheeky little peck on the cheek, before unsheathing her little dagger. She didn't expect it to be very useful, but it was better than nothing.

Finn's face turned absolutely scarlet at the peck on the cheek, he gave off a real "Nice guy" vibe

She flashed a grin, before turning all her focus to the areas around them.

As the group continues the small passage opens up into a large room, extremely large in fact perhaps most of the mountain is hollowed out. The room is domed with a roof that towers above them and multiple floors with stairway leading down though the stairs are positioned differently on each floor so it is not a straight shot down. The room looks almost spherical corpses litter the ground on each floor, perhaps an army's worth, and from the center, and there is a purplish glow from the bottom, likely the staff but it is too far to tell. When all three are inside of the room the passage seals with a magic door behind them, and the air chills,there is a wave of purple magic from the bottom of the room, while the group is not affected the skeletal army that litters the ruins begins to rise.

Mystogan shrugs as he watches them rise. He takes out his wand and begins to swish it experimentally as he waits for them to approach.

There was no controlled advancement of the forces they were too scattered throughout the miles, and miles of space. With a wide blast of cleansing spirit energy that appeared akin to a sort of greenish blue fire Finn wiped out a squad that was rising close to them, the bones of said squad fell once more and turned to dust. Finn was powerful and could hold his own against groups of these undead, but unlike Mytogan he was not a trained fighter, or tactician. He did have common sense though, and pulled himself, and moura behind a pillar when archers above began to rain arrows upon them as he did not want to expend energy on a shield, this would be a long battle.

Mystogan ducks behind a pillar as well , okay....that's a lot of zombies. He glances over to Fin eyes wide with worry "What do we do?! You didn't say there would be this many!" He asks frantically.

"Alright Misty calm down i need you focused can you form a shied to block their arrows?"Finn asked thinking on his feet despite his lack of training "The good thing is it's easy for me to use cleansing energy, so you're going to shield me while i take out the archers, then we'll use summons to funnel the ground forces on the stairs alright?"

Misty nods "Alright sounds like a plan then " He replies beginning the incantation to create a shield of burning light , which should keep the arrows and zombies at bay long enough for Fin to do his work.

Finn begins firing orbs of magic at the archers above that explode into cleansing energy that wold not harm a human but are highly dangerous to the undead.

Moura began thinking that she was entirely out of her league here and regretted the entire journey up. She honestly thought it would be a simple little task, where they'd all be home in time for tea. "Well, I'm just gonna hide behind you guys, okay? Okay."

"Okay" Finn said in confirmation to moura as he finished off the archers above

Misty begins to feel a little drained, a shield of this size takes a toll on a man after all. "Hey Finn the human , how long until you're done, I can only keep it up for so long and you're really taking your time finishing" ha, sex jokes....because those aren't horribly over done.

Finn tosses him a mana potion" Now would be a food time to summon" he said as the one story of archers above them had been dealt with but now the hundred stories bellow had foot soldiers coming in to make their acquaintance

He chugs it down and drops the shield ,beginning the incantation for Pisces , the great fish. A massive blue enchantment circle appears right in the center of the mass of zombies, and in a flash of star light a massive portal to the a great ocean opens beneath the zombies, and a massive magical sea serpent rears t's magnificent head . The thing is massive, with glowing read eyes, green blue skin and a head the size of school bus, it's neck is about as long as a damn football field, and it's obviously not happy.

Finn sits back and lets the fishy do its work on the human sized undead soldiers

The serpent roars and everyone is pushed back several yards, than it sets it's sights on the zombies, quickly it ducks it's head under the water, gathering sea water in it's mouth , that begins spitting high pressure streams of the water at the zombies, completely obliterating any it hits with the force.

"Oh cool looks like pisces has got this" Finn observed

The monster roars again and with a lunge , grabs around half a dozen zombies with a single bite "Yeah he's pretty cool , but he'll only be here for another minute or two so be ready to fight " Misty replies grinning.

"Ok... I recon we'll still have like sixty floors worth to go then..." Finn said with frown as he readied his staff

"Yup........you wanna just not do this?" Misty asks already knowing the answer.
