I am more wolf than human in more ways than one
I feel like howling every night to the moon and barking a the sun
I may have no flowing fur or sharp, white fangs
But I am not afraid of a gun making noises like bangs

I have read the book, "Women Who Run With The Wolves", and agree with its every word
And I hope that wolves someday might somehow be heard
My sense of smell is acuter than most humans my age
But I have pity for seeing wolves locked in a cage

Keeping my wolf spirit is on my New Year's Resolution every year
And I will try to become strong without shedding a tear
So please do not judge me when my character's on the prowl
And lift up your human head and give a good, long howl
