Background: Torin was born to a pair of decidedly unremarkable mages in a covenant down south. His father mixed potions, and his mother worked with basic enchanted items. Torin’s family was not wealthy when he was growing up, but they were by no means poor. It was a healthy family environment in a somewhat safe rural area where threats from cryptids were quite where. He still remembers the time during his childhood when a wendigo was found near the covenant’s compound; he was told to stay inside while his parents gathered the covenant to hunt the thing down. Torin saw some of the fighting out the window, and while he found it exciting, he felt it highlighted how boring life out here got. Since that day he’s wanted something more out of life, he began to experiment with the distrusted magic of necromancy and became quite proficient in it. As soon as he could, Torin signed onto a new covenant being formed in a supposedly dangerous city in the desert.
