Background: Although the praetoriate are a brutal  dictatorial regime , even they had places where their influence waned..where their power didn't hold as much sway. No law or edict could truly enforce over miles of frigid Canadian wilderness , not without brute force. Therefore Piper (who won't give up her real name) grew up free for the most part , living a simple life in a family of independent loggers out in the woods of Canada. But that all changed when a bunch of strangers arrived in a black truck. They tried to force their way in , yelling the family had to give over any food and medical supplies and leave the house now, but her parents weren't having any of it. There were certain liberties that came from their remote life style , including guns. Piper was told to go hide in the basement...but she heard the gunshots . By the time she was allowed back upstairs the strangers were gone , and the snow outside was a lot more red.Her father had known even then that this would come back to bite them. No one stood up against the Praetorians , not even a family as out of the way as theirs. Piper doesn't like talking about what came next , suffice to say she had more than enough reason to run and join the first rebel cell she found. Now however after about seven years of working as a saboteur , cell leader and recruiter under the codename piper , she finds herself captured by the same people who took so much from here so many years ago .
