A Hill in the desert .

"Was talking to both of you!" He replies "Ez , do you know how to drive?" He asks as he grips the handle of his buck knife.

"Nope, but I know how to throw lightning and fire..." he siad throwing a bolt of lightning at the bandic car which as ussual solves the problem, this time by blowing up the car in a neat little explosion

"...Well thanks for ruining my fun." He replies with a sigh.

"Hey I had him!"

"Didn't you hire me to make sure you stayed alive?" Ez asked raising an eyebrow

"Doesn't mean make everything boring" He replies.

"It basically does." Ez pointed out "Not exactly keeping you safe if I let you get into mad max style car battles"

(Mad Max doesn't exist the year is 1936)

"Mad max, the guy who got very uppset and started attacking police in car battles a couple years ago"

"I think upset is a bit of an under statement but whatever." He replies calmly as he spins around another car and pulls out his magical pistol , then fires it into the gas tank.

The car explodesbut chucks a spear into his winsheild first

He flinches a bit as the makeshift spear slams through his windshield "Now , where were we going again?"

"Towards the town I thought" Ez said

As they near the town , a large makeshift sign scrapped together from scrap metal and splintered wood reads 'Welcome to Houston Texas USA' .

"This was not my favorite town" Ezrune admitted as they drove towards the farily ramshackle city, people living on top of echother in shit conditions... well it beat living in the wasteland, and was safer from raiders than smaller settlements "Met some good people here though." he wondered if any of them ware still kicking

The walled defenses are as makeshift as the sign , constructed from petrified trees , rusty chain link , sheet metal and prayers. The guards patrolling them however seem slightly more formidable."I'll let you take it from here to talk to them."

When the car stopped Ez got out hands in the air "Howdy, do you take visitors?" He called up to the guards

"Depends what's yer business in these parts?"

"My freind is an Archaeologist, I'm his guide, she's a mentally disadvantaged youth we've brought along" He gestured to the immortal, himself, and lori respectively, the last part was of course a joke

"Really? An Arkayolojist?" He replies with a raised brow "We don't get them fancy job types around here often."

"Well most don't have the balls to have expeditions here"

"I on the other hand ,do ." Hill states confidently as he sticks his head out of the window to wave "I hear there's a air death derby comin' round these parts soon , and the prize is a bauble I've been searching for for like what....ten years now? So I wanna join."

The guardsman grins a revolting brown toothed grin but nods "Wait....wait Ez....that you partner?"
