 " Don't worry about it just yet" He replies calmly as he takes the fries out of the freezer and pours them onto a tray.

"The last friends I had got me into drugs so," SHe said with a shrug.

"Great, thanks for the advice," She said giving him a thumbs up.

 "But yeah like..tell me about yourself and such"He reiterates as he puts the fries in the oven.

"Uh... Why don't you start."

 "Ok cool...I live like six fucking states away fam " He begins with a chuckle that reeks of an innate feeling of helplessness "I came here because I do amateur boxing and there was a tournament , and then this shit happens and all of my friends are gone , no text no call , GAWN"

"Do you even have signal?" She asked. "Like maybe they just can't call you."

 "Nah we have signal" he replies as he points to his phone and it shows all five bars.

"Oh right," She said. "Have you considered that they are just bad friends?"

 "Well , we were less friends and more a team you know?" He replies as he leans against the counter top, well muscled arms crossed as he looks her over a bit.

"Ah," She said, nodding. "So bad friends."

 "Well we all have some right?" He replies with a shrug "So what about you girl why are you here?"

"Maybe I just really liked America," She said with a small smile.

He begins to laugh at that.

"I don't know what you're laughing at," She continued, smiling gently. "I'm just a wee Scottish lass amazed by everything in the states."

 "Uh huh I'm sure , well if you don't wanna tell me I'll just make some shit up "He replies with a grin.

"Oh please do, I'd like to hear this," She said, leaning forward.

 "You see when you were a little girl , you always dreamed of being an orca whale " He begins with a shit eating grin.

"Shit you're right, how did you know?" She asked, feigning seriousness.

"I dunno I just got that feel of you I got intuition and all that" He replies with a smirk "Anyways all of your teachers and friends ade fun of you , saying you could never be an orca whale as thouse were massive and majestic , and you were just a small little kindergardener and shizz"

"Oh yes you're so right," She said, nodding along.

"And for a while you kept insisting until ne of your parents old you to shut up , then ....u vowed revenge"

"Mhm," She said. Her eyes held a small glimmer deep inside. It wasn't much, but it was something. It was enough. This... joking about. How nice it feels. It swirled in her chest, a warm fuzzy feeling that washed everything else away. And for that brief moment she thought of nothing bad, nothing self destructive. She felt happy, or a type of happiness, when stoned, but she couldn't remember ever feeling like this. Maybe Taylor was right. Maybe she had forgotten what happiness felt like.

The grin widens as he watches , leaning against the counter top "Hold hold up...I think I'll try my hand at this mind reader thing...you're thinking...that I was totally right aren't you?" He jokes.
