Exiting the lair

Nari had been both high and playing video games for months non stop, and has not opened a window in weeks never mind leave the house. The only time she opens the door is to collect her groceries she orders online and to occasionally grab some more weed from her dealer. Luckily she has been trying to grow her own so she is more self sufficient. She is efficient that way. However once everything went tits up, she found that her food had not arrived and she had ran desperately low on supplies. Not even an angry worded email - or several - had made her order come yet. She had also been much too high for the water to have effected her yet.

She stood just behind her door, debating whether or not to leave it. To be brave, to yank open the door and make the most of this oh so exciting world. But the world was not filled with excitement, only disappointments.  Still, she had to eat. Her hand found the door handle, the cold metal biting her skin. With a deep breath she yanked open the door to the world gone topsy turvy.

There were flaming cop cars in the street and days old human corpses hanging from a nearby street, this had always beeen a bad neighborhood but... on the padio of the apartment Alex and Taylor were playing checkers to pass the time

Nari blinked rapidly, momentarily blinded as she had not seen direct sunlight in a couple months now. It was quite a sight: She stood their with her hair a mess wearing an oversized faded jumper and old jeans that were more hole than Jean, topped off with red rimmed eyes.

When her eyes adjusted, she gaped in surprise, but honestly didn't react like one would expect. She's stoned after all, she partly assumes it's just a hallucination.

Taylor is winning currently.

Alex was cool with that it was just checkers "Dude are you still stoned?" Alex looked up and asked the chick from the apartment next door when she came out of the apartment "Do you even know what's going on?"

"Trick question," came her response. "I'm always stoned." She raised her arm to point at the corpses. "You see that right?"

"Yeah..you're not the kid from that movie we see the dead people too" Taylor replies casually.

"Oh shit..." she murmured. "Uh... what happened?"

 "The fuck do you think Samwise Ganja ? The city went to hell" He replies bluntly.

"Oh yeah it's all fucked up" Alex said with a nod "Bunch of people got super powers and the military quarintined the city" He demonstrated by teleporting next to her "anyway the gangs have sort of taken over this area"

"Shit man, what was that."

 "We're doing pretty good though you know , I mean he can do that, I can do this" Taylor remarks as he points to the sky and it begins snowing...in July.

"He can only do that over an issolated area and not for too long" Alex clarified "Five bucks you'll pass out in ten seconds"

(It's light snow )

"Hey... do you think fish can see the sky like we see the water and see the water like we see the sky?" She asked, as the snow had made her think about water and the fish question was one she had been wanting to ask someone for ages. "Like.. the water is invisible to them?"

"....Wow...you are...you are just fried huh" Taylor replies.

"Yeah that's her" Alex said with a nod

"No but I really need to know," she urged them.

"Take this and go sleep it off" Alex handed her a big bottle of water

"I'm not sleeping it off I need to get food," she said, pushing away his offered water.

"Ugh I have food take it" Alex said to her

"I aim to be self sufficient, " she replied.

"Then where are you going to get it from?" Alex asked her

"I... I'll find it."

"Ma'am you are too high to be going anywhere" Taylor points out with a shake of his head.
