A fine day

It was a day like any other in neew boria, the skies were clear the sun was shining, the tourists were walking the streets with unsecure wallets; Alex's favorite type of day. Alex had taken two wallets in the course of the last hour and he was posted up across the street from the obelisk of freedom looking for an easy mark, a tourist if possible, they had lots of cash on them ussually.

Angelika was walk through the streets with her brother they had just came from to groceries and were carrying many bags

Taylor smiles to himself as he pulls out his phone and takes a snapshot of the large stone structure , the rest of his Team were waiting at the hotel for him but why the hell not take a picture right? He's probably never coming back here again , and while he didn't win the tournament he had gotten second after all , it was a whole seven grand for the prize , he can spend a bit of it right? After all he made the money , not mom ,not dad, him. He swells a bit with pride as he dwells on that.

"Excellent" Alex said to himself mr burns style; just the mark he was looking for, and they were all weighed down with bags. He followed and when he saw her fall behind the others he ran over and bumped into Angelika to startle ther before quickly slashing one half of her purse straps with a knige before grabing it and moving to run off with a "Sorry luv"

She shots "Hey you bastard kommst wieder hier" she throws her bags to her brother and chase after him"
(So at this piont they do have their powers)

"Nah i'm good" He called back as he made a run for it with her purse

As she chased him the shadows started to grow and seemed more solid as they went "Halt" "Stop" she switches between German and English with a heavy German accent.

Of course he was not really focussing on the shadows as he mad a run for an alley

Once he hit the alley he saw a black wall blocking him, before he could exits she entered the alley "Give me back my
geldbörse"

As it happened he ran face first into the wall "What the hell!?" he wondered barely noticing her coming from behind

She walk right up to him and pulled the purse from his hands and punched him in the face "Arschloch"

Tay's eyes widen as he walks past the alleyway to get a closer shop and sees a lady punching some kid in the face and taking his shoulder bag "The hell's going on here?"

She jumps when he hears him and the black wall disappears "I..I. He stole my geldbörse"

"I don't speak whatever language that was" He replies , large arms crossed , clearly blocking off the exit to the alley.

"Uhhhhh..." Alex was left staring at the place the shadow wall was at like an idiot until he heard an enormous BOOM, it came from a nearby sky scraper, an explosion of red energy that for a second formed an orb like a second sun, then burst anf sent a massive shockwave  through the air, toppling most of the buildings neary including the ones they were under "Oh shit move!" Alex shouted as he grabbed the girl babling foreign giberish with the intoent of pulling her out of the way, then suddenly found himeslf as well as her, standing safely across the street. He looked baffled

She looks around before running away back to her hotel

Tay's eyes widen as the shock wave throws him to the ground and he throws up an arm as several tons of brick fall down towards him. Adrenaline rushes through him as his life flashes before his eyes, and then a large curving wall of ice forms above him , blocking the bricks with it's thick frigid service.

Alex had taken the wallet out of her purse in the confusion, and had slipped into the croud that was running everywhich way as buildings toppled around them before she even noticed, he was just glad for the quick buck

Sad for him she spent all her money on food and had nothing in there, as she runs back she can't find her brother, and she hopes that he was already home

 "AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!!!!" Tay screams in surprise as he scrambles away from the toppling building quick as he can , athletic build and adrenaline spurring him down the block, zooming past Alex like a rocket , a strange strength coming over his legs.

As Alex fought through the crowds back towards his appartment he remained focused on his goal, ther were a couple more explosions and some sirens off in the distance, he was freaked out and just wanted to hunker down back home... which was suddenly where he found himself... "Holy shit I can teleport!" He exclaimed with a grin as it dawned on him, he forgot the crisis at hand

Taylor's heart pounds hard as a battering ram in his chest as everything turns to a blur before him , speeding past with a speed that seems superhuman as he leaps straight over an alleyway fence , one thought on his mind .Get to the hotel , get home.

WellTaylor was able to do one of those things, after the chaos and all the explosions , martial law had been declared, the city had be quarantined on the island, all flights were grounded, and national guard tanks were rolling through the street enforcing an immediate curfew... as the days went by this would prove innefective, with gangs of metahuman thungs attacking military personel in the streets, the National guard pulled out save for those who had been at risk of contamination. A massice deffensive perimeter was formed around the island in the week to come to enforce the quarintine, but the streets were not safe, the gangs had taken over and despite supply drops from plains to the city people were not doing well... the police were able to keep control of only a small section of the city as it seemed the gangs had more of these new super humans than anyone else.

Angelika got up with a grunt she was laying on her floor she didn't remember much after the bomb

Alex Was actually doing really well for himself for once, these powers were sweet, he had stolen so much shit, a badass computer, monitors, energy drink, chips, poptarts, a pistol, a back up generator, for once he didn't have to worry about if he was going to eat tommorrow, and the gangs didn't ussually give him trouble as he kept his head, wellm they hadn't yet, but it had only been a couple days since they started taking back to the streets. He was outside of his apartment at the moment though, configuring an antena for his ham radio
