God I hate you

She is a woman of average height , with a slightly pear shaped maternal figure , those brown freckles that dapple Candy's skin as well , and a dark curly main of hair that reaches her shoulders, her eyes , a warm light brown turn to him with just the coldest stare imaginable. One that could turn milk to cheese and wolves to whimpering pups "Hello." She replies , tone so frigid that Candy shivers a bit.

"Nice place you've got," He continued. "Very... homely."

"Let's get straight to the point pendejo , you've tortured my poor little son for the past three years...yet suddenly I find you in my house , with him , all nicey nicey all of a sudden...why?" She asks bluntly as she keeps flipping through the paper.

"Character development," He replied, rolling on the balls of his feet.

She ignores this "My son , is a very kind boy , a sweet little nino , forgiving , yet he's a terrible judge of character, that's why I'm here , because when he brings someone to my house not worthy of forgiveness someone with sense has to be around to put a stop to it and kick the garbage to the curb so to speak. You have no idea how many times I've had to spend hours holding him, shaking and sniffling , just so he wouldn't burst out into tears , how many times I had to spend by nights stitching wounds and wrapping bruises in this very roof. Now I don't know how he's forgiven that, but I haven't , so unless you can give me a very very good reason not to give the children metal bats instead , you should probably just leave"

His expression was unreadable, though his eyes flicked towards Candy every so often while his mother was speaking. He caught the woman's eyes again. "I love him," His voice was strong and sure, despite being just chastised by a lovely looking lady. He thought the words would be difficult to say, but they weren't. They were as natural as breathing. And they were true. It was the first time he had ever said that to anyone, even to himself. "It took me a long time to realise it. I was taking out my frustrations on myself and on Candy." His eyes dropped to the ground, and he sucked in a deep breath before loosing it slowly. "I am sorry for hurting your son because I didn't and still have not accepted myself."

Her eyes widen for a split second ,a  look of surprise on her face for only a moment before turning back to the earlier calm disapproving one "So you love him, so your sorry...does this mean you deserve him? Why would I , or any parent for that matter trust their son with someone so emotionally unstable they would need to do that?" She asks , her voice cutting and even colder than before.

"I never said I deserved him," he responded, gaze locked on one point on the far wall. "And no decent parent would do that." He looked back to her. "But in the end it is his choice to make."

"In this specific case , no , no it is not , you're abusive to both yourself and others and are still dealing with intense self hatred issues , frankly cabron you're just an incredible danger to my son , and I don't think I trust him with you" She replies , shutting that down quickly , yet for the first time since this conversation started Candy speaks up "Mama ,I...I know this sounds bad , I know this just sounds like 'little Bartolomeo' being too trusting but...but *breaths in deep* but I believe him...I really do, and..and I love him right back , I'm going on 17 mama almost a man , I think I can make these decisions for myself...after all you did at my age and you and papi turned out great" He replies , nervous yet firm in his speech, however his mother quickly cuts in "Yes but your father didn't have a three year long history of emotionally and physically abusing me."

"I will make up for it," he replied. "I promise you, I will not hurt him any more."

"How can i know? How can I know two months later my son won't be running into the house with a black eye talking about how it was just one of your 'bad days' pendejo? " She replies coldly "Well..there is one way " Candy speaks up again "We could have him take a blood oath, those are pretty binding"

"I'm sorry, what?" Demetri asked, glancing to Candy.

"You're a vampire and you've never heard of a blood oath perrito?" He laughs with a raised brow.

"No, no," He said. "It just seems a little... far."

"Oh so my blood can get spilled whenever you need a snack but yours is far too valuable." Well Damn.

"That's not what I meant," He responded quickly.

"Well then what did you mean?" He replies , arms crossed , and D can't help but notice the small smirk on the mother's face, at the very least glad her son has learned to stand up for himself.

"Well for a start I didn't mean to spill your blood," He replied.

Candy just glares.

He just shrugged. "It was an accident."

"I passed out...when I got home"He replies , though he's not really mad.

"Oh," He replied. "That's not good."

"Oh really ? I couldn't tell"

"I've already apologised what more do you want?"

"I dunno" He replies honestly with a shrug and a laugh.
