Adopt the Light

After an entire week when Matthew was attacked by an angel and visited their Arch Angel to clear the confusion, a lot has been discussed about him since Matthew being an angel did not go unnoticed. Different opinions was brought up and a little bit of debate over it, but it was then decided that they would try to have Matthew with them so a messenger was send to go deliver this message to Matthew. The messenger flew in the night sky trying to locate Matthew's aura.

Matthew was of course in bed at home, it was late on a sunday night and he had school the next day

He would hear a knock on his window, the messenger was there floating with his wings and wearing fancy clothes.

Matthew however was fast asleep and just snored loudly, he was a heavy sleeper

The angel messenger stared at him from the window, he was speechless of Matthew's sleeping. He continued knocking and even shined super bright light inside of his room, perhaps it will hit his eyes.

"Gah!" matthew shouted and  shot awake forming an MP5 submachine gun in each hand in case he was under attack, he deformed them when he saw the angel outside the window though, and got up to open it

The angel messenger then spoke. "Evening, I am bringing you a message from our Arch Angel, she would want to meet with you in her manor and to invite you into her group. She will want to tell the details of it herself. What say you?" He asked as he continued floating with his wings.

"Uh yeah, i can go meet her i guess" Matthew said, he was wearing shorts and a comfy Tshirt. Clearly groggy he rubbed his eyes and yawned

The messenger was willing to fly Matthew there, he extended his hands so that Matthew could grab them and they would fly away.

Then they flew through the night sky as the messenger carried him to the manor, he let him down in the front doors as he flew up into the roof. The doors open for him and the same angel servant is there to lead Matthew to the Arch Angel, which he did.

matthew just followed groggy and uncoordinated due to not being fully awake

Matthew soon arrived in front of the throne of the Arch Angel, she then spoke. "There you are... I was impressed that you were able to overpower our executioner when you got attacked by her, still new and no wings... So, I have decided to invite you to be one of our own. You will be made a knight, we will offer you training and give you a weapon of your choice from our armory. But only if you become one of us, then I will bestow you your knighthood. Do you understand young one?" The Arch Angel asked of Matthew, she waited for his answer.

MAtthew takes a second to absorb all this then " Well I certainly appreciate the offer ma'am, but i'm a bit fuzzy on what exactly you do though?" Matthew asked her after all he didn't want to join them without knowing what it was they actually did. but he assumed  they saved souls and fought demons ore something

(i assume they have a pitch for new earthborn members that isn't, we devour human souls while they are indoctrinated?)

The Arch Angel then continued. "We mostly battle against our enemies and collect the souls of the fallen. We try to maintain a balance of power in this city after all, we fight against a Demon Lord that sends his soul hunters from his domain in Hell to gather souls to gain power to overthrow our power in this city and take it for themselves. That is our duty, to keep ourselves in power by stopping the Demon Lord's plans involving this plane. Will you become a knight and help us?" She asked him with a slight smile.

Matthew nodded at her statement, and declared "Well if it helps drive off the demon's i'd be happy to learn"

(Look, I don't know what 'parentheses' even means.)

The Arch Angel nodded, she then spoke. "Glad to hear it, as promised you are now granted the title of suiting a knight. You will be known among us as 'Sir Matthew the Wingless One', you are allowed to choose a weapon of your choice from our armory as well as join our new recruit training program." The Arch Angel told him, she was looking forward for Matthew's further servitude.

"Thank you ma'am I will certainly take you up on the offer of training, i sorely need it." MAtthew said, he knelt which he had seen was customary on tv

(Yes, exactly.)

The Arch Angel nodded, she then replied. "Very well, you are allowed live here and come and go as you please. You now have full access to the armory, training room and the dining room... I hope you will enjoy your stay and membership here. Now, I have other things to attend to... You will be contacted when you are needed or given a task once you have completed your training. As you serve me faithfully, complete given tasks your rank can be upgraded and you get access to even more things." She said and now Matthew was free to go, the other angels acknowledged Matthew as one of them now.

(basically i was theorizing, they'd want to fully bring any earthborn angels into the fold before mentioning that they feed on human souls)

(Ah yes, they will try to get them over it and so on and once high up in rank they will allow them to feed from the souls to gain power to crush their enemies. I made the faction, since Matthew is part of them now add the name to your occupation.)
