Background: The thing about being a running gun is you can only run so far. Jessie was fast, and had a hand like lightning, he’d grown up in his gang; he ran longer than all them, but in the end the trouble he caused caught up to him too, and he caught a bullet from a ranger’s rifle just north of El Paso. Jessie died that day, but it was not his end, his corpse dragged along behind his horse far from town with his leg caught on a saddle strap, the outlaw was found by a witch he had loved in his youth relatively well intact. With a great and expedient sacrifice Jessie's soul was torn from the fires of hell back into the land of the living, the outlaw lived again, but now with a curse most foul. Over the next several decades he came to terms with his curse with all the subtlety and grace of a bull in a China shop, those years were more an extended series of fuck ups and fights with the older clans and their enforcers than anything else really. The witch is long gone now, but Jessie remains, and is frankly about as clean as a vampire can get; he has an honest job, has stayed mostly out of trouble for decades, and only kills for food; frankly it’s terribly dull to the old outlaw.
