Getting reacquainted

Rook gives her a thumbs up just as it nips her finger

She flinched a bit and had to consciouslyhold herself back from punching it in the floor "There , I'm not scared of cats! Now banish the creature before the servers see it!" She demanded with crossed arms.

"You definitely flinched" Rook said with a grin before banishing it and saying "I'm proud of you"

Syndr's eyes narrowed as she thought to herself a bit , and suddenly decided that in the interest of re-introducing her good friend Rook to the concept of feeling, she should punch him in the face.

Rook who was actually being serious about the last part fund himself on his back, one cheek/eye area now marred with a bruise the size of her fist "Ow" a slightly stunned Rook said, though the pain in his face was considerable he had a much greater concern that showed as plain fear on his face "I'm going to look like some sort of ruffian brawler now..."

"No you won't , face is too soft." She replied.

He breathed a sigh of relief missing the insult completely

Alessio meanwhile was just sitting in his chair , eyes almost glued wide open in shcok as he attempted to sip his tea "Well then."

"Well she is a savage what did you expect?" Rook asked with a small grin

"I do not know , what I do know is that we should probably make our exit in a dignified manner before all this noise has us kicked out." He replied as he set down his cup and grabbed up his plush maroon jacket. Besides ...he had senses eyes on them since they had gotten here . Though their trio weren't of particularly high standing , loyalist spies would undoubtedly still be posted in such a place as this.

"Yeah I suppose so, being kicked out by common rabble wouldn't do at all" he said standing and dusting himself off

"Is that all you think about?" Alessio questioned jokingly as he closed up the buttons on his jacket and grabbed his cane.

"I can think about two things at once" He said heading for the door with a grin

"And what would those be my good sir?" Alessio asked as he followed Rook out of the lobby and into the street crowded with carriages and passers by.

"Magic, and class warfare" He half joked

"It's hard to tell when you're joking of such things , the swiftest route on the way to the fort will take us through a slightly shady area , so do be warned." Alessio declared as he twirled his cane a bit in hand and got to walking.

"How shady?" he asked putting quotations around the word shady and winking, he was very proud he had learned some of the "Lower class lingo"

"Oh god you are just...a treasure sir rook." Alessio replied with a chuckle "Shady enough that two fine looking gentleman such as ourselves bedecked in suit coats and pocket watches may be accosted , though combat is nothing unfamiliar to either of us now is it?" He explained sharply as he ran a hand through his auburn curls.

 Syndr just snorted , she was more than capable of crushing any mere footpad.

"Of course not, but don't forget about the lady" Rook said motioning to Syndr cheerfully "She's come a long way from her days hiding from the cat in my coat pocket" meaning that to be a complement

Syndr replied with a frustrated growl , yet nonetheless kept close to protect Rook as always , despite how embarrassing the bookish wizard was , she couldn't change the fact that she cared for him.

"In fact while I would normally say is no place for a woman; she is the finest warrior I have ever witnessed." Rook said clapping her on the shoulder affectionately, the way she looked after him was actually not so different from the way he had fiercely looked after her as kids, he had never been very strong, and whiled he would never admit it only came into his full magical talent in his early teens, yet none the less all throughout their childhood she could remember such instances as rook pouncing on the back of a much larger student in school when they tried to step on her, biting and scratching and stabbing with a pen, emerging with bruises and broken bones, but always either winning or buying time for little her to escape. As "civilized" as he was she knew how savagely protective he could be of those he cared about, most her and his now deceased sister, though the latter had rarely needed protection.

Syndr simply nodded , she was appeased for now. She remembered the first day she had taken on human form , several years after she had first been summoned by the wizard. It must have been quite the experience for a pubescent male as he had been at the time , walking into his study to find her . She chuckled a bit as she recalled the nervous flush that had covered his face , the way he had tried not to look.

"Oh I've never seen herbs like that before do you think it would make good seasoning with super?" Rook loudly asked as they passed an exchange of... ambigously legal substances in progress

Alessio let out a snort of laughter "Apologies Mr.Rook." He exclaimed as he attempted to regain his composure , still holding down chuckles "It is simply that the substance those men are peddling , it's called Marijuana , and it is...to say the least , not the most legal thing to have in your possession , I speak from ....personal experience I assure you." He elaborated as Syndr gently pulled the erstwhile mage away from the two criminals. Something had to be said for the man's sheer curiosity , even if his instincts in there situations weren't the best . 

   Alessio had found he had come to like this Rook much better than the quiet aloof one , though it shamed him internally to admit it. Yet Rook had so much energy , so much fervor for life , yet had that same sharp intelligence as before. It was like watching a dessicated tree bloom back to color in the spring ,and he found he enjoyed simply being around such a person. After all despite his often flippant exterior Alessio had found himself almost beset by a level of melancholy, and having such colorful companions as these too and Ivana had helped him of late.
