Something isn't right

She's not blushing , that's just Janik's lying eyes.

"So I know quite a bit less about your people than most of my kind, mind if ask bout where you are from?" he wondered after noticing the blush and slipping his silver mask back on for reasons that are definitely not to hide his own blush.

"Oh yes , I love speaking of home , if only because I've grown to miss up , we live far off in the east , in the great steppes and mountain valleys of Chaggran." She began to explain.

He listened intently occasionally posing a question such as "Are all your people trained so well in swordsmanship? I've seen many masters of my homeland, but their styles are not nearly so graceful." Indeed they were not as graceful, but no less effective

"No , most Chaggerta , similar to most humans , have little interest in war , I am a warrior monk you see, specially trained in the wielding of my blades." She explained .

"Are you much like the warrior monks of the humans?" He wondered having heard they could be charitably described as overzealous and intolerant. He joked at her "Have you come to punish me for sins?"

"Maybe , just don't do anything bad while I'm around an no punishment will be needed." SHe replied.

"What do your people consider bad?" HE wondered legitimately curious about the tenants of her faith

"Well if I'm to be blunt similar things to most humans I've met." She replied "Needless death , destruction  , lies , unfaithfulness , stealing cookies."

He slowly and awkwardly puts away the cookie he was raising to his mouth "But they are so goooood"

"So ask for them." She replied with a laugh as she snapped off half of it before he could react "May I?"

"Of course you can have some of..." he quickly and quietly hid under a cough "The last" before raising it back to normal "Cookie"

" It seems death does not assuage gluttony." She replied with a shake of her head.

"Well to be fair why would it?" He asked and smiled. "In less than ten years my taste buds will waste away and for over half a century and all food and drink will taste of ash, gotta party on while the partying is good"

"Carpe diem then?" She replied with a smirk.

"Now you're getting it" He chuckled at that and joked "But if you are determined to change my cookie stealing ways who am I to refuse?"

"Good it seems you can be reformed after all."

Janik grinned assuming her to be joking and looked ahead seeing symbolically ominous storm clouds on the horizon
