"I did the job didn't I?" He asked "I saved your ass"

"Yes but you won't shut up" she said

later at the parent's  house

"Oh thank you thank you thank you!" The mother cried, throwing her arms around her daughter when she was home.

"No trouble ma'am, I assume you have my payment" The detective said

"Yes yes of course," she said, faffing about to grab the money.

"You have a good day, if you require my services again here's my card" Callahan handed her his bussiness card with office address and phone number on it and headed off after taking his money

The mother was too busy giving the daughter perhaps too much attention.

"Mom I'm alright thanks to them" The sister assured her

"Well done" was all her father would lay to Lori with a light nod, probably the most approval she had ever received from her parents

"Oh shit!" Lori cried, pressing a hand to her chest. "My heart... Can't take... All this... approval..." And then she collapsed on top of Ez.

The father went to get some coffee

ez caught her smoothly in his arms

She peaked up at him. "Seriously though, can't handle it."

"Oh i'm sure they're proud of you all the time on the inside" Ezrune said

She snorted.

"Come on, let's go home" Ez said since they basically shared a place and ez was tired from the trip

She gave her sis one last hug, told her father to get some home security or like a dog or something before leaving.

since callahan drove off without them it was a short walk home

It was actually a long one as there was no way Lori would live within a comfortable walking distance of her parents.

Once they got home she all but collapsed onto the sofa. "I'm never moving again," She mumbled into a cushion.

"Oh come on it was a good stroll" Said a chipper Ez sitting next to her

She stuffed a pillow into his face.
