Strange lights

It was the dead of night, the sky was pitch black outside covered by clouds, when Mr. Edwards, one of the farmers on the edge of town was closing up for the night. As he was closing the blinds on his window he saw a bright light, dancing in the feilds outside, almot blinding when he tried to look and see what was causing it. "Damn kids, out there stealing mypeaches again" He concluded with a grumble, normally he grudgingly alowed that they were just kids making mischief after all, this time though he frlt he had to make sure. Mr. Edwards grabbed his shotgun and a flashlight and went out to take a closer look at this light, stepping outsideit stuck him just how bright the light was, he didn't even need his light to see the place clearly. "You kids get the hell off my property"  he grumbled as he got closer to the light... strange it looked like it was growing... it was actually getting kind of warm. Mr. Edwards gave a scream as the light began to burn...

The next morning, saturday 9pm "All I'm saying is that captain america is objectively correct, when the earth is being attacked by aliens or god like entities  you can't have the UN vote on whether to send in the avengers it just isn't practical and it wastes time, and you can't risk any smaller council sending the avengers against their political enemies." James said to his sister over a bowl of frosted cornflakes at the family's needlessly giant and fancy breakfast table in their fancy dining room "Iron man is a moron"

"Dude...the avengers need accountability , need to be able to answer to some form of laws do they not?" Vicky replies , stubborn in her stance on this "Besides Cap isn't doing it because of that he's doing it because Buck's his best/boyfriend , there's an obvious biase behind his actions"

"Widowmaker is hot though," Esther murmured absently while she passed the two.

"He was against the initiative before bucky got involved" James refuted her point "And no they don't, they're saving the day. Some things transcend laws... like making sure we aren't concured by aliens, and most governments lack the moral standards of the avengers... besides tony is the one who alway fucks shit up" he then went over to Esther and revoked her nerd card

"Tony and Banner if you'll remember and incase you forgot Ultron wasn't even his fault , Ultron just looked at our history and decided we were shit , a lot of us do that you can't blame Tony , also yeah when they have a Hulk and a thunder god running around they do need accountability."

"Hey give that back!" Esther said.

"I think they're a bit above us being able to hold them accountable if they went rogue, who could stop them? besides I trust them more than the people we're proposing hold them accountable." James said and looked at esther who had just implied a character from overwatch was black widow "No." He replied "I'm not angry i'm disapointed"

Esther dove at him to try and get her well deserved - sorta - nerd card back.

Vicky rolls her eyes "That's like saying America shouldn't have to be held accountable because 'who could stop us if we went rogue' " She replies.

"Yeah but here's the thing, who do you trust more, politicians or the avengers?" James asked as he dodged wether "because I trust the avengers more, and I don't want politicians holding them accountable,it's like how i don't want north korea as the people holding the US accountable."

Esther resorted to hanging onto his leg until he gave up the nerd card.

"Honestly , at least with politicians we can always overthrow them , the hell do you think we can do to the avengers other than keep them bound by their own oral codes?"

"Whatever"He gave up on disuading her from her ridiculous argument "sooooo... who wants fresh peaches?"

"I can't eat them," Esther said.

"I can enchant them so you can eat them" James said easilly removing his leg from the ghosts non coporeal grasp

"Okay then," She said, standing up.

"Great" he said dialing up Candy

"What is it?"

"Want to "Borrow" some of Farmer Edward's peaches?" James asked him

"No not really , we grow our own" He replies with a shrug.

"Yeah but yours suck" James pointed out

"Bitch"

"hehe"

"...Hmmn , you know what I'll meet you there" He replies .

"See you there" Alex said and looked at Esther "Piri's in let's go"
