The king however notices him and beckons him to sit at one of the free seats "Sit traveler , we need details on the main assault , and how you and your allies defeated that dragon" He explains calmly as he waits for Rook to sit in one of the elaborately carved and decorated golden chairs.

Rook complied with their request, and spoke up to give them his account of the battle.

The queen nods with interest ,translating for her council mates who do not speak Albinese after all . At the end of his rundown the queen speaks up "The monsters you describe , the types of magic your enemies use , they are foreign to us, are these other men from the East ? Like yourself? Will others like them come soon?" She asks assertively , the great destruction and loss of life in the city bringing heavy concern "The fires have been set out , and soldiers have already begun gathering up rubble and corpses , yet still we lost many today , we must know if such a situation will come to pass again" The king states strongly "And if such a thing does come to pass we will need to know how to slaughter these new enemies" The queen continues , it seems as though their minds are somehow in perfect sync.

"They are a group of dark wizards, who fled from the authorities in my homeland for ritual sacrifices among the victims of their murders was my sister; it will take years for them to restore their strength in all likelihood so I do not suspect they will attack in the near future." Rookwood explained to them honestly "The group that attacked you was something of a paltry force to be entirely honest, but thick with mages relying on their summons. I say this with the utmost respect for you and your people, but against an actual military force from my homeland I do not believe your city would have stood an hour, regardless of the tactics you adopted. Our machines are quite powerful, and our magic wielders... well most are not as powerful as me but a few are even more powerful"

The queen's face turns to a grimace aand she quickly translates for the others . At first the reaction is outrage , they don't like the idea of an outsider saying such things , but slowly it turns to bitter resignation. "Is there..any way to ensure the easterners who inevitably follow you will not attempt to conquer us?"The king asks with a frown.

"There's no guarantee, I would recommend allying with one of our nations, trade to get you hands on their weapons technology and maintaining good diplomatic relation, but even that could provoke a rival nation to the one you traded with to attack." Rookwood recommended and continued "Speaking of which there's a pirate at the gates who would like to trade with your people"

The king sighs heavily and face-palms , this has just been the worst day for them.

"Perhaps someone among said pirates could show you how to replicate our weapons and you could be better prepared if you are attacked" Rook tried to suggest a better solution

"They are criminals are they not?" The queen asks bluntly. "You call them pirates , this is a word we do not have , yet the magical link informs me it is something similar to a bandit"

"Like bandits, but at sea" Rook clarified

"And how are we to expect them to carry out a fair deal with us?" The king questions calmly "Do they have some sort of honor code?"

"No not really... how about my crew inventor guy shows you how to do that instead? In exchange for restocking our ships supplies and a few days rest before we move on." Rook offered them a fair deal

"That seems a fair bargain" The queen concludes.

"Excellent I will go inform the crew, and get hamid to teach this" He said to them
"However we are most hungry"

"Of course , wewill supply you with food , drink , and shelter until your crew is ready to leave" She replies .

"Thank you, I should go retrieve them" He said

The queen nods and with that turns back to her fellow council members.

Rook hurried back to the others

"Nice of you to join us," Rin said, thankful at his return as she was so incredibly bored.

"d'awww did you miss me?" Rook asked jokingly as he approached

"Just kiss already" Franky's voice suggests from somewhere in their broken down guest home.

Rook coughed and looked away embarrased

Rin snorted.
